Hi girls just wanting some advice! I am currently cycle day 12 of a 25 day cycle and have been testing with opk since cycle day 6 and been getting a faint line. This is the darkest it has been today.
Would you say this is positive??

Hi!

Positive = the same colour or darker than the control line. For me, I've never had a positive line. So I have just used the darkest line I have seen as an indication a positive result was potentially before or after I tested (if that makes sense).

It could well be. Definitely dtd today. Your surge is your darkest line and that varies for each woman. Is it as dark as the test line?

It’s so bloody confusing!! It’s not as dark as the control line but the darkest and thickest I’ve had yet.
I might test again later!
Are you both ttc at the moment? Xx

Not everyone gets a line as dark as the test line but it could still be a pos for you. I would test later, but before 5pm is recommended.

Sunflower that’s good to know that not everyone gets the actual “positive result” .. here I am being all perfectionistic about it and trying to time my fluids and POAS to fish for that darker test line!

I’m TTC for 6 months now. I had my darkest line yesterday - so I assume im now in the tww

If you had your darkest line yesterday you may not yet have ovulated so not in tww. You ovulate between 12 and 48 hrs after a pos. So it could be today and could even be tomorrow.



It was a fertility doctor who told me it didn't have to be as dark. Your darkest line is the positive for you.

I can never hold it that long. I do 2 but some tests say 4, which is insane. Don't make yourself ill holding it in! I'd say 2 hrs is ok. And don't drink much.

It does have to be quite dark but not necessarily as dark. It has to be a recognisable surge.

So I did another opk and it’s another positive (darker than yesterday’s)
And I’ve had quite intense ovulation type pain on my right side.
So my question is how long should you have positive tests for?
And when does it mean I’m likely to ovulate?
We ditd today, yesterday and the day before so I’m hoping I’ve timed it right! Won’t get another chance all weekend as OH is away!

If you’re getting ov pains I would dtd today, tomorrow and next day as well. You won’t get that much of a big window after ovulation, but it’s obviously difficult to pinpoint the exact moment it will happen!

We’ve dtd today, shortly after I started with the ovulation pains! Not gonna have much chance now so I’m hoping we’ve done it enough lol!
Also I went for a ultrasound today for something else and they told me I had a dominant follicle on my right ovary, and they said this would likely mean I would ovulate soon and it’s the same side I’m now feeling pain so I’m hoping it’s a good sign.

Are you tcc at the moment?

I’m a little worried that I don’t seem to have much cervical mucus at all!! I think I might try pre seed next cycle If no look this time.

Oh gosh a whole year! Fingers crossed it happens quicker for you when you try again.
I’m tryimg to be patient and tell myself it could take a long time yet. I’m only on second cycle of trying! Xx

If your real positive is today then you've timed it perfectly. You'll probably ovulate tonight or tomorrow. Ideally you would dtd tomorrow too but you're already pretty covered. I only get one day of positive opk.

For EWCM eat oranges and stay hydrated - the vitamin C helps. Also last cycle I had tons of cod fish fingers and much more EWCM than normal - apparently the white fish is very good for it.

I’m hoping the last pregnancy fixed me! To be fair my cycle was totally shot through pcos so I wasn’t under any illusions of success

Thanks for the advice! I will try those.
And might try and get one more bd in tomorrow morning! Think he’s getting sick of it already tho timing sex around when I think I’m ovulating! Xx
