help !!!

im really scared at the min as i am 31 i have 2 children already aged 13 n 11 and i have just fond out im expecting again ive had backache n stomach cramps i had an early scan today and they have said im roughy 5 weeks but they couldnt tell exactlly as the feoutus only messures 3-4mm but they couldnt detect a heart beat so im frightened now as me n my partner have wanted this for the last 2 years they have told me to go back in 2 weeks for another scan whn they should beable to see it they said it doesnt mean its not there just they couldnt pick it up coz of how small it is could somebody help put my mind at rest please anita x

There's alot of girls on this forum that go for early scans. From what I've heard from here, you don't normally see a HB until 7 weeks so that's why they've asked you to go back again in 2 weeks!! Congrats on your pregnancy and I wish you the best of luck x x

Ccongrats on your pregnancy, but as already mentioned it is perfectly normal to not see a heartbeat so early as it is just too tiny to pick up

Hi,

I had an early scan at 5+1 and they could only see the gestation sac so I had to go back at 7+1 and then they saw the heartbeat.

I'm sure you'll see the heartbeat when you go back!

i hope so i really do thankyou for all your replys your really helpin. Myself n my partner have been tryin for ages and ive had 3 misscarrages this year so this is just a hugh scare i really hope that your all right whn i went formy scan i had an internal scan they picked up the gestation sac n the yok (whateva it is) on the sheet they gave me everythin said yes except the hartbeat n they really werent helpful at all quite snotty n matter of fact one midwife actually said well u should knw wht it means u have had 2 children

i had my first scan at 5 weeks and 3 days. they couldnt see a damn thing.
i came back to them and the hospital did a scan at 6 weeks 5 days. and there was my lil bean.
