We keep going back and forth between these two names and can't seem to decide. This will be a middle name, not first, but we're not concerned with flow. Simply trying to pick the nicer name. Also, were Jewish, so both names are Hebrew. What's your favourite?

Yael
Rachel

Yael is pronounced like Ya-Elle. Not like Yale, the university.

Well. Both have similar meanings. Yael meaning mountain goat Rachel.meaning ewe. Both have clear biblical meanings and influences too. I would go down on which biblical character you most del affiliatedo with. I'm far from monotheistic religion so can't help you there however I like the look of Yael better it looks modern fresh and original but that's just my opinion x

I also prefer Yael, never heard the name before but I like it, it's different... I'm not a huge fan of Rachel xxx

I worked in a Jewish school for a while and taught a girl called Yael. I always loved the way it sounded. I think it's a very special delicate name x
