What to make for dinner! It's a choice between Sher Ping pancakes or sweet chilli vegetable stirfry with noodles.

The pancakes are dough, stuffed with spiced minced pork and served with salad and dipping sauce.

sweet chilli vegetable stirfry with noodles sounds lovely x

The sweet chilli stir fry sounds fab!! Room for one more?? x

I have no idea what to cook tonight, part of the problem is the cupboards are empty  I've seen your baby weaning thread and you always give lo and your family such wonderful food!! I'm so jealous!!

Lo has a really good diet, loads of fruit and veg but it's mummy and daddy that suffer as eating good food is so expensive!!!

I would pick today to crave healthy food :wall2:

It is really expensive isn't it?! It's shocking! I dread the bill at the end of the shop! Lol!

Aw thank you x I do try :)

Not helping LM :) lol! I'm secretly hoping to put off the pancakes as I hate pork! Lmao!

It's awful isn't! It's far cheaper to eat junk food that it is to buy things like veg, fruit and chicken! We only spend £70 a month on food as OH had a huge pay cut

I've started growing my own veg to help and I love it!! Home grown strawberries are so delicious!!

Mmmmmmmmh I agree! Homegrown stuff is brilliant! Oh no! I spend way more than that a week!!!!! I want a veg patch but knowing the kids round here they'd dig it up! :(

stir fry sounds good to me my shopping bill is never below £100 a week and thats basics no luxuries

I really wish I could spend more, I love making everything homemade but when you do it's just so expensive buying the ingredients! As long as lo is getting everything he needs I'm not too worried about us. I must be doing something right as he prefers fruit and veg to chocolate and will ask for grapes instead of sweets!

We have a very small garden! Last year I grew potatoes in bins from poundland, herbs in pots on my walls, strawberries in pots, I've got two planters that I grew blueberries and carrots and spring onions in. I grew fine beans and peas in trugs! I love it!! I just wish I could grow more!

£70 a month!!! We spend that a week! I blame OH for me not being a fancy cook! He likes plain food not fancy stuff. I'd love to cook more things like you do Helen!
Go for the stir fry tonight!!

One good thing has come from having no food money, I've learnt to make something out of nothing :smug: and I'm actually pretty good at cooking now!! Unfortunately it's a hobby I don't have the money for. Who'd have thought 3 years ago I didn't even know how to boil an egg!!

I really fancy sweet chilli stir fry now!! Do you use a shop bought sauce or make your own?

I used shop bought this time as I have no clue how to make sweet chilli x lol! With other things (like spag bol, cabonara etc) I make my own.

I spend between £80 and £100 a week!

Until I moved in with OH he had never had so many foods but was willing to try any and loves them all! I can't remember not being able to cook!

Well poll closed-Seb couldn't wait so I did stir fry :) pancakes tomorrow!
