Has anyone managed to have an older toddler rear facing in this? The rear facing option seems to be advertised for up to 4 years.

I dont have a tall toddler and i dont have a particularly small car...but my 1 (almost 2 year old) has his legs really bent if rear facing and it looks so uncomfy. I know its adjustable but i believe its fully extended away from the main car seat.

Just curious if anyone else has an older or taller child rear facing in this?

Thanks

I have a joie stages for up to a 7 year old so it doesn't spin like yours but it says the same about up to the age of 4 using rear facing. I would have the same problem with my 16 month old if I used rear facing. To be honest as soon as she was 9kg like it says in manual and could sit up unaided I had her front facing as I like to see her and she likes to see me and have a babble at me. I can't imagine seeing a 4 year old rear facing like a baby

My daughter is 4 in April and rear faces happily in her Maxi-cosi 2 way pearl. It is far, far safer for children to be rear facing until 4 due to skeleton maturity and not height/weight. Her legs are bent but she is very bendy and often chooses to sit in a similar fashion when not in the car. No issues, and she is safer - no brainer for me :)
Obviously it is completely up to individuals but just wanted to say it is entirely possible to rear face older infants. Hope that helps x

My DD was very unhappy backward facing. No space to stretch her legs and she couldn't see us either. We switched her round when she was a year old. I know it is safer backward facing but I wouldn't have my child being so unhappy every time she is in the car. And it is not like forward facing is unsafe... x

There is a very useful group on facebook called car seat advice for mummies and daddies, they have lots of photos of different aged children and all the up to date info and crash test results etc. I found it really interesting when we chose our seats and set them up.
