Help? confused with my ovulation

Hiya Ladies

I've spent weeks trying to find an up to date forum, I am so in need of people in the same boat, I only have my partner and my mum to talk to and I know it bores the pants off them and they glaze over! I've noticed you guys are trying similar stuff to me, I'm on cd7 of cycle 4 now and I've bought some of that preseed, hoping it works, I've found out taking anti histamine dries you up, 😲and I always have them. So stopped that now. Also been having those before conception tablets, partner hates these calls them beef pills as they apparently smell like beef ha ha. I'm really confused with ovulation at the min so hoping to chat about what everyone does to find out exactly as my temps say one thing and the sticks say another. Sorry to rant on, but I can't wait to talk to people who understand 😊 hope everyone has had a good weekend. Xx

What do you mean about the temps saying one thing and opks another?
I don't have any experience with preseed but I've heard good things about it.
What conception pills do you take?x

Hiya sorry, well I used the opks from cd12 up till cd15 and it became positive on that day, I tried the clear blue digital and the cheaper one step test, the one step was darker than the control line and the digital had the solid smile, I never got a flashy smile though. So I assumed I ovulated within 48 hours, but my temp had a dip Cd18 and that's the day my app estimated I ovulated. I've been very stressed as have had a death in the family so I know that won't help. How long have you been trying hun? I'm using the pregnacare ones. Also do you do the charting?xx

If it was positive on CD15 then you probably ovulated sometime late/in the night on CD17, causing the dip on CD18. That's my guess anyway. As long as you've covered CD14-18 you're good.

Yeah maybe! Well we was knackered by the 17th day and do anything after the 16th day, which I hoped would be enough but clearly wasn't. Keep dreaming of positive test then waking up like oh no its a dream ha ha. How long have you been trying? Xx

I would trust the opks as temping isn't that accurate. Also there's evidence that some women have the dip after ovulation. If you dtd on cd16 then that's great. You probably ovulated cd16 or 17.

Agree with above best to trust the opks than the telling. Lots of things can effect telling. I don't know your habits but for example you are supposed to temp the exact same time every day when you wake up....but if you wake up different times it can be less accurate.

I gave up with temping as i work shifts and often got woken up by my husband then would fall back to sleep so results where not accurate.

Opks are great if they work for you. Being a long term TTC myself I have reached a stage where I just record through a good app and tbh it's pretty accurate. If it is predicting your period right it will be predicting your ovulation within a day or 2. Opks will be more accurate but poking too much stress on you and your partner on a particular day isn't always healthy. Generally if you can cover your fertile period of a few days then you should be well covered.

Yeah the temping isn't great I am a restless sleeper and I sleep catching flies so don't know if that effects it too ha ha.the app estimated I'd start af on the 22nd which was exactly 2 weeks after their predicted ovulation, my cycle is 30 days and always like clock. Have you been trying a while then? I have two boys already 13 and 7,this is a new partner and I'm nearly 32, does anyone else have the problem to over think everything!? I drive my self crazy! Which app do you use nikki? Xx

I had positive OPKs on CD15 and 16 last cycle, and going by temp drop I put ov down as CD17, but apps put it down as CD18! I think I was right and it was CD17. x

I've also invested in pre-seed this cycle which I will use once I get my first positive OPK, I'm on CD7 of cycle 5 today. x

Emma, Do you have 30 day cycles? Your a day behind me, nice to have someone at a similar stage to me, I hope the preseed works, expensive isn't it! My partner was asking how much it was, so said £5 ha ha. I've read that a cough syrup without histamine in it helps to wet cm up more. Don't know how true that is. Xx

My cycles vary but usually 29/30 days. Yeah it is expensive so hope it works!

I’ve bought Robitussin cough medicine to try this cycle, read good things about it, take it from 5-6 days before expected ov, 3 times a day x

Aw you sound like me, trying everything, I've literally just been to boots and bought some cough syrup with guaifenesin in it, is that what you have? By the time we have a baby will have spent a fortune on just making one, can't wait though, so worth the wait. I think I'll ovulate at the weekend or Monday/Tuesday. Do you do the cervix checking? X

I expect I will get positive OPKs early next week.
No I don’t check my cervix, wouldn’t have a clue how to! Lol x

Don't ha ha I did and felt sick every time, and mine always seems in the same place, so not doing that again, they found abnormal cells on mine this year but didn't need anything doing, just 3 Yr check ups now, so hope this is our cycle, do you get really upset every time af arrives, it's like you have that hope until it shows, I always burst into tears, promise my self I won't each time. Do you have any kids or is this your 1st? I've just ordered some more cough syrup of amazon, same as yours ha��x

The first cycle I got really upset and the cycle just gone it hit me quite hard, in between I’ve been coping better than I thought. Just scared of possibility of it never happening.
I’ve got a 6 year old daughter with ex husband, trying for first baby with my boyfriend, so in a way it’s like trying for first all over again if you know what I mean.
You can buy that medicine in Boots too.

I use one step opks I get a positive that matches the control line but then the next day I get a blazing positive and then fertility friend confirms with my temp I ovulated the day later so I get 2 positives before I ovulate

I use Glow. I find it good because you can put in as much or little data as you like. The more data you feed into it the more accurate your cycle predictions become. I record sex on it as well so that I can see where we have DTD in relation to ovulation etc. But I think that's cos I'm LTTTC So it is way past the fun stage lol x

Hiya you all OK? well my cough syrup has arrived, woo hoi, can't believe I'm excited over cough syrup haha. I know its so rubbish isn't it, it really is that 2ww that makes it worse as every symptom plays on your mind, I'd love to be pregnogs for Christmas and to be able to tell everyone one.

I like one step they are cheap as chips and work for me, I've just ordered some pregnancy strips too, hmm might try that glow, I use natural cycles, I originally got it to prevent pregnancy but I started to change my mind. X
