I've been doing OPK's since CD7 with no luck. Then today I have a load of whitish dicharge (tmi sorry), so much that I've had to use panty liners all day, but my OPK's are still coming back negative. Any ideas what the dicharge could be?

If its stretchy its probably the coveted eggwhite, and with the opk's, you could be testing at the wrong time of day? Ive never really used them so dont know to be honest.

Good luck anyway, maybe get lots of BD'ing in just incase :D

I've not tried to see if it's stretchy. I do the OPK's around 3pm. It says not to do them in the morning but do them between 10am & 8pm. I thought I would have OV'd earlier in my cycle but maybe I'm just a late ovulater  . If I have OV'd late does that mean my AF will be late too. I thought you were meant to OV 14 days before AF.

Its the luteal phase (between ov and af) that is usually around 14 days and should be the same length each cycle, but ov can vary, especially if you have irregular cycles (mine are terribly irregular!) so yes you can ov later in your cycle than your normally used to but then in turn your af will be later aswell.

Hope that makes sense!

If the cm isn't stretchy it is probably the creamy type that happens before you get egg white. The creamy stuff isn't supposed to be that stretchy

hi skairdy

i am in same boat at moment.. taking a relaxed approach this month but have been checking to get an idea of when to b'd. my cm is creamy and in abundance and i should have ov yesterday or today.

the general rule is you get the ewcm right b4 you ovulate so if its creamy type then you shouldnt have ov yet... keep checking and doing the opks..

good luck :moon:

Thanks hun. I've never really taken much notice of all this discharge before LOL. I'll keep doing the OPK's and hopefully get a positive soon.

Hi Skairdy, how are you getting on with the OPK's? I've given up using them as I've never had a positive. One month I used one...cheapy...every time I peed over the pre ov period. Instead I rely on my temps and CM and chart using FertiliyFriend. I clearly ovulate every month, guess I just have weird pee!

Well I did another OPK at about 8pm tonight and there was a faint 2nd line. I know thats classed as a negagtive but maybe the line will get darker in the next few days . I just hope I won't have to wait another 14 days before AF comes as I worked out I was due on next Thursday but if you only get AF 14 days after OVing then I'm gonna be due later :wall:. TBH I was thinking of giving the OPK's a miss next month as they are just making the month drag :?

I used to have no line, then a faint, then darker but never as dark as the control line. I got really stressed with the whole process and it was a relief to give up on them. Are you charting with FF? Even though I've had children and work in healthcare I have learnt so much about my body and cycles from them. My ov has always been between day 11 and 13 so I rely on those dates and cm changes. Then the temp shift confirms it afterwards. Who would have thought TTC would be so stressful?
