Hello there!

I've been lurking on this forum for a while without really having the time to read regularly or post.

BUT now that I'm 39+1, have stopped workingn and am sitting here TWIDDLING ME THUMBS!! I'd really like to know if anyone has found a great way of passing the time between now and when the baby is born.

I feel like I need some kind of project to keep me busy and stop me obsessing about whether that twinge is the onset of labour or that escaped wee is my waters bursting.

Short of beginning a "Home Sweet Home" cross-stich for the baby's room, has anyone got any ideas?

LOL! I've tried! But after a couple of hours at the computer, my fingers start swelling up like balloons! :(

Maybe I should just order some DVDs or summat ...

i think there is something wrong with me today! :rotfl: so far I have...

made a carrot cake
made choc chip fairy cakes
mopped the kitchen
changed the bedding in the boys beddingbought and hung new curtains in the babies room

tomorrow I shall do absolutely nothing!!!

Well now I just feel lazy! :|

But if I actually knew how to adjust and hang curtains, that's surely what I'd be doing right now!

:D

:rotfl: :rotfl: you sound like me!

i woke up at 4.30am and couldnt get back to sleep so i cleaned my room from top to bottom and it took me two hours   but well worth it!
then i went for a walk round the shops with my mum (walk... should i say waddle) and then made some choc chip fairy cakes

curry tonight and being lazy :D

i cheated... I bought the ones that just slide on the pole  :rotfl:

:D Yeah but first you've got to get the pole up there! The dilemma I have at the moment is that the curtains up there (dusky pink, from previous house owner - totally vile) have to come down first.

If my husband catches me up a ladder he won't be impressed!

Plus the new curtains I have are too long and I can't shorten them because I don't have a sewing machine. And even if I did have a sewing machine, I wouldn't know how to use it! :D

Maybe I can just cut them...??

welcome to the forum :D
Well today ive been swimming, shopping. im planning on going swimming every day now ive started my mat leave.

ohhh maybe we'll go at the same time  we're getting our "energy before labour" burst

Right! You lot and all your activity just shamed me into taking those darn curtains down. The embarrassing thing is that I've been "meaning" to taken them down for about 6 months now. On closer inspection, it turns out they could be removed in about 2 seconds flat and now that they're gone the room looks so much better for it!!

Now I just need to find some more tasks! Thanks for the inspiration! :D

god im so lazy

im sat here in my dressing gown justifying it by saying "im not well today"
:rotfl:

other than a case of feeling sorry for myself and being starving hungry im fine.

you shamed me, ill get up and do summat now... then again :rotfl:

Oooh! Thats a sign labour is around the corner! I got fanatical about cleaning the kitchen a day or so before I went into labour with James.

I spent most of my maternity leave doing jigsaw puzzles cos I was so bored! This time I've got James to look after so I won't have so much time to kill :D

:rotfl: Sounds like my day. I woke up at 8, watched jeremy Kyle and Judge Judy, fell back to sleep until 11  Sat in my PJ's then had a bath and washed my hair. Oh also I made some baked beans and been cuddling the dog on the couch ever since. God I'm lazy today! :bored:

I made brownies today !!! :cheer:
But i actually felt like this :x      :wall: :wall:

Very bored, depressed, still in my pj's...bloody hormones.

You're not the only one feeling depressed, it's such a wierd feeling as I know there is so much to look forward to and the end is so close but I also feel like :wall: :wall: :x   I can hardly motivate myself to smile at the moment. My mum is going through the menopause at the moment and is also having a hideous time with her hormones, we're like two crazy woman together...crying, laughing, having hot flushes generally being irrational :?

Im 37 + a bit...but with pre-term labour symptoms Ive been told to expect the arrival of the little one any day soon...so im in the same situation as you...

To save me spending my days sitting there like a lemon waiting for a tidal wave to gush out down my legs I have resorted to the classic past time of EBAY

Has anyone tried Aquanatal? I thought that sounded quite cool for mat leave. If you're 39 weeks though getting in and out of the pool might be hard work!!! :rotfl: Can you still drive or are you too big to reach the steering wheel?!! :rotfl:

I can still reach the steering wheel, just can't get in and out of the car now

I prescribe a box of All Gold and crap tv for you then!!!
