heavy bleeding between periods and now im late

Hello,

Im hoping someone can help me!

I have been TTC for almost a year now, my periods are pretty regular- my last one being at the end of April 2015, two weeks after i had a heavy bleed, mainly blood clots (sorry for the tmi) and some cramping. This lasted for 3/4 days.

I was expecting my period just over a week ago but as yet nothing!

Im not sure when to test... as the heavy bleed in between my periods has thrown me a little,

Any advice greatly appreciated.
