Hay fever

nothing :( I had it bad with my first luckily I'm due soon so should be able cope in the next three weeks my friend tried the nose balm but didn't rate it x

I'm not sure hun. Know a lot of meds are no nos. Maybe speak to your doctor and ask for some baby friendly ideas? Know if it's pollen related, they advise you to keep your windows closed. Sorry I'm not much help - hope you feel better soon! Xx

The first generation antihistamines are safer than the newer non drowsy varieties.
The eye drops are safe enough, I still use an eye drop and a nasal spray as their effects are fairly localised.
Vaseline around the nostril helps capture pollen. Also adding local honey to your diet has been said to help.
Windows closed at night and shower after you've been outdoors x

Cetirizine is safe (with the advice ofc to use it in the correct doses and only when needed)
I suffer too and I have 1/2 or 1/2x2 per day depending my symptoms.

The local honey is fabulous as cosmic said but needs months to start working :(

Ohhh poop!!
It's just the sneezing drives me mad!
And now I have this TMJ crap it feels like my ear drum bursts if I sneeze with dignity... The only way I can sneeze without it hurting is to snot everywhere lol!!!

I am taking Prevailin. I used it last year and it helped, and this year is doing ok so far too! Its a preventer, so you blast it up your nose first thing.

and its safe to use in pregnancy. There are two types, I am not sure what the other type is so check before you buy them. I have the one with blue writing

Best to speak to your doctor hon.... I'm sure my doc said stuff like beconase is safe, but you shoudl check it out with doc first... hayfever can be miserable! (Thankfully mine doesn't seem too bad at the mo touch wood) xxx

My doc prescribed me tablets to take, so they were free as well as having no hayfever! Is check with them :)

Best speak to doctor!!! I'm suffering too... But have read up about hayfever remedies and most say to avoid the new non drowsy medincine as no studies have been done to see if they are safe!
Sounds silly, but I bought a red light therapy thing from lloyds the chemist and it's basically 2things you shove up your nose and they light up, iv done this a couple of times a day for the past 3days and iv not so much as had a sniffle. Even lay in the park for a few hours this morning!!! Might just be coincidence but it's helped me :)

Best speak to doctor. I am on a Beclometasone nasal spray and sodium cromoglicate eye drops. It's helping ease the symptoms a little, still got a mucus build up that's landing on my chest and have strained all my chest and abdo muscles coughing though.

The GP bless sat and studied his little 'BNF' book for me, I suffer food allergies as well as bad Hayfever so am on antihistamines all year round. Most said things like 'no studies done of effects in pregnancy', or comments that meant they were 'probably' safe in small doses. I am now carrying around 'Chlorphenamine' which is what they put in Piriton for my food allergy kicks off (hope it doesn't affect LO, but I can't carry a baby dead either)

I would try some of the natural remedies and staying indoors as much as possible. I have also heard that locally sourced honey is excellent for hayfever (never found any near to me sadly)
