Having a bath after caesarean

Hey mums,

I have a caesarean 2 and a half weeks ago, I was told not to bath straight away but showering is fine. How long did any of you mums who had a caesarean wait before having a Bath? I really want a bath cus our shower isnt very powerful and just want a relaxing soak! I meant to ask my health visitor today but forgot! Thanks xxxx

i was encouraged to go in the bath the day after i had Hananh in hospital i was going in 3 times a day for the 2 weeks i was in

I was in a bath about a week after I had my c-section!

Go for it luv! And stick a handful of kitchen salt in it to help you heal!

Yes, same here. I was told to have a bath the day after my daughter was born to help remove the covering over the section wound. No one told me to avoid having baths, although that said, it was a while once I got home before I found the time to have another one!

I had a bath just as soon as I could get in and out of it myself! Like Lainey said though, some salt in the water would do your scar loads of good!
