about my baby's name (again)

i had chosen Kaelynn Claudia Rose

but my mum is having trouble pronouncing the name Kaelynn which is bothering me quite a bit... she says it like Kaitlyn but i dont want my girl to be confused by her name.. with me using one and her nana using the other iykwim.

now when i was pregnant with my first i really liked the name charlotte but for some reason didnt think of using it this time..

i dont have a partner to exchange ideas with this time round either so im making the decision much on my own which is really hard when i think about it.

I wondered how it would sound if i use Charlotte as a first name and Kaelynn as 2nd name?

too much of a mouthful?

Charlotte Kaelynn Rose Jordan (my surname)

I know we dont address our children by their full name but is this too much??

sorry for rambling on just very confused.

I think that name sounds really lovely, it rolls of the tongue nicely too!!

It's not too much at all, my husband has 2 middle names.

I understand what you mean about people being able to pronounce the name hon. I think it's nice to give a kid a name they don't have to spell to everybody or that the teachers will be able to say at school etc.

I have a friend who has a son named Boner which is pronounced 'Bonna' but he came home from school crying the other night because the temporary teacher pronounced it 'Boner' and the whole class laughed.

I know that is an extreme example but it makes me realise that kids are sensitive and even though you might know how to pronounce it it could cause others issues.

Ps I love the name Charlotte it's beautiful x

phew.. glad you understand! but when people ask me oh waht are you going to call her then? and i tell them kaelynn they just look confused and say oh like kaitlyn then

i just wanted a nice but different name.

charlotte kaelynn rose yeh it does have a ring to it now lol thanks girls.

lets hope nothing happens now!!

Looking at the name Kaelynn I would pronounce it like 'Kaitlyn' without the 't' as well... how is it meant to be pronounced?

I think Charlotte is a beautiful name and the whole name together sounds lovely.

I really like Charlotte too, it's a lovely name and sounds great with your surname. :D

I think kaelynn is a nice name. So she will probably have people calling her Kaitlyn, but there are so many names out there now that are a bit like another name.

My LO is called Anjali and when we say it people reply 'Angeline?' and we're forever saying 'NOOOO, Anja-LI' but it doesnt make me regret the name

My middle daughter is called Lucy and we were going to spell it Lucie but decided against it because we knew that everyone would spell it Lucy and it would end up annoying her. Really glad we chose the normal spelling now.

My eldest is called Kaye and people often think she is called Kate, so when she was little she used to say "My name is Kaye, K.A.Y.E!"

I like the name Charlotte but I'm biased as its my name too!

If I wasn't named Charlotte, Charlotte would be on my list too as well as Scarlett :D
