Have you been contacted by your midwife??

Hi all,

I have just found out I'm pregnat again after nine years..........Oh my god. Now I have got past the panic stage I'm getting really excited. I don't know what's changed in the last decade but when did your midwife contact you. I saw my doctor at six weeks and filled in a form to book with the midwife but haven't heard a peep since. I'm sure last time I saw my midwife straight away??

I saw my GP, then had to put my name down for the MW to contact me, which she did about a week later to book me in for my first appointment (when I was about 6.5 weeks). I think it varies depending on where you live, I know in some places you don't see your MW until after you've had your 12 week scan!

Probably best to give the surgery a call and ask.

ive been to the dr and am waiting on the midwife to call me should do soon as i have to have early scan ect

I went to the doctor at 5 weeks, he said that I probably wouldn't hear anything for a few weeks, and the midwife would want to see me at around 8 weeks. Not heard anything from her yet, but I did get a phone call last week to say my scan would be when I'm 10 weeks on 26th sep

I went to the doctors when I was 6 weeks and filled in a form to be contacted by the Midwife, she got back to me the next day and booked me in for when I was 8 weeks.

it all depends where you live from the sounds of things.
I went to tell the doc I was preggers yesterday, he just sent me to the reception to make an appointment with the Midwife. I am seeing her in a week and a half.

I had my scan first and then see her on 14th sept - I'll be about 14 weeks

I'm the same as Happybunny, saw my dr then made an appointment straigh after, seeing her next tuesday, then she will send of my info so i can get a scan

In Bristol you just go straight to the midwives who have booked me in for a first appointment at 11 weeks, they tell the Dr for you here. We don't get a 12 week scan though (boo!) it varies so much across the Country, I'd phone your Drs surgery and ask them

I saw my doc quite early but i kept the ppointment from my miscarriage....

well ive been told in no uncertain circumctances by the nurse and dr at our gps that midwifes in our area will not contact you before you are 10wks!pfft so guess they like stressed out ladies then
