Ill admit it i have! and felt so guilty about feeding it to Alfie as it was vile. Well ill tell u the story, i put to much baby rice in his bottle and i didnt realise i had so was a bit shocked when Alfie tried to suck the bottle that his cheeks were meeting in the middle and his eyes were bulging out their sockets because he was sucking too hard. Well keen not to waste an 8oz bottle i shook it over my arm, nothing came out, so i thought well ill just give it a suck to see if anything comes out, i did and yes out came the milk, horrible horrible horrible, but then again Alfie cant suck as hard as me  scuse the pun ladies so i made a fresh bnottle up. So now ur all completely bored from my little tale but at least you dont think im some wierdo who drinks her sons milk!

i try it to make sure its not to hot for madi :puke:

do u not just try it on your arm darlin? i couldnt keep trying it, i wud be sick, i feel really sorry for giving it him but \alfie seems to love it, mind u i reckon he'd eat a steak if i fed it to him, theres been times he's nearly had my arm off if im too late in getting the bottle to him

i cant feel the temp on my arm :? i just try it on the safe side. ( i always have a drink on hand though :rotfl: )

Havent tried sucking on my boobs yet, but when I do ill let you know what it tastes like :rotfl: :rotfl: :puke:

I'm sorry to say this but I don't think putting anything in a babys bottle other than milk is a good idea. Babies tummies are not ready for any solids until at least 4 months, 6 is recommended, and even then never in their bottles.

2 b honest i was a bit wary of putting it in but my hv advised me to as hes a big lad and quite greedy it isnt alot just a tiny bit, he seems more cintenet and settled and it just gives that bit more substance, if he'd shown any signs of discomfort i would of stopped giving it him but it just seems to be working with him,

I was always told not to do that as it can get into their lungs, I am really shocked that your HV advised it to be honest

I would have thought hungry baby milk would have been a better option

he's already on the hungrier aby milk and is extremely hungry baby, he seems alot more content and happy since being on it do u think i should stop giving it him? am worried now, wud neva do anything to make him ill, i had no idea, i told her that i couldnt give him enough milk to satisfy him and she said had i considered putting a tiny bit of baby rice in the bottom of his bottle? i asked if it was safe for him and she said it wouldnt do him any harm so i never thought anything else of it, its not rice rice its like a powdery rice, does that make any difference? and i dont even put half a spoon in with 8 oz, am i hurting him? :(

Oh sweetheart i didn't mean to worry you and i know you would never do anything to hurt him

It is just that everything i have ever read or been told tells you not to do it, our mums probably used to but as they say things move on

Personally i would stop doing it
I found a link about this

Second paragraph down

It is basically the swallow reflex is not fully matured yet and even just a little in the bottle makes it thicker, as it would if you put and extra scoop of powder in

thanx hunni, will stop giving it to him, its not long till he's four months anyway so ill just persevere untill then xxx

I started weaning em just before 4 months ( as was recmended then  )
Just like an egg cup full of baby rice mixed really runny with the milk

Good luck hun, the time will fly by
