Hi all,

I had to have an amniocentesis (i don't know if I spelt that right  )
because in Spain it is recommended to all Mums over 38. They told me they would call with results about two weeks after the procedure, and not to call them under any circumstances, they would call me. I was fine for the first two weeks, but now it has been nearly three (will be 3 on Monday) and I am really getting uptight and upset. You all know how easily that happens, blame hormones again :wall: !

Just needed to talk to someone about it, not sleeping and on verge of tears all the time, I know all will be well, it is just a "routine procedure" in the doctors' words, as I am ancient at 41, the 12 week scan was fine, etc. But i am still worried that something is terribly wrong and they aren't telling me. I know I am being paranoid, but the wait is killing me - could do with a hug!

awww

I would imagine if there was anything to worry about you eould have had a call by now

As they say,no news is good news

There's lot of tests involved in pregnancy I know, but my midwife always tells me mamichuli, that no news is good news, so I hope you can try and think positive until you hear

Could you phone your Doctor just to ask about the result, maybe they have it there but haven't rung you yet as they're busy, as surgerys usually are

Best Wishes

I live in Greece and they also really pushed me to have this test (I'm 39), I had to wait 2 weeks for the initial results (because we had xmas and new year in between) and then my Doctor rang me, got the written results after 3 weeks. I'd contact your doctor as maybe they could ring for you, I was going frantic waiting for my results so I fully sympathise with how you're feeling. good luck and hope you hear soon.

I phoned this morning and they just said "no, we haven't received it yet, we'll call you" I suppose I am just going to have to be patient. :wall:

In any case, thanks for the support, I will keep you posted on what they say...eventually!

I had a CVS test at 13 weeks and had to wait for my results. I know just how you were feeling. It sucked! :(

But now you have the ALL CLEAR those days of waiting seem very worthwhile don't they? :)

Congratulations again to you, LO and your OH!
