As some of you may know, I was taken into hospital 2 weeks ago with some bleeding. Thankfully everything was fine apart from the babies growth. Bubba is a bit smaller than they'd like so I am to get another scan at the end of the month. Today I got a phone call from the hospital asking me to come in early for the scan now. I can't help but worry now. I've been trying hard to not let the growth bother me too much but now that they want they scan done earlier it is making me worry even more.

i'm sure it is jsut an unexpected vacancy in their schedule so they have bought you in a little early.

I think the same as Sandi, they probably have a vacancy and they have offered it to you. I know you will probably still worry, but during my first pregnancy I was told my baby was too small for dates, but she ended up being 7lb 14. Plus I never had a bump until very late on. I also know someone in work who was told her baby was small, the baby was 5lb born at full term, but she was just a petite baby and now is the weight she should be xxxx

hiya i was told with my second that he was small and i had to go for a scan, because they move around and snuggle up it is difficult to measure them properly thats what i was told at my scan and he was 7.6 and a half which is about normal size, i wouldn't worry

Hi,

Try not to worry, it sounds like an unexpected vacancy or something like that.

I had to have extra scans with both of my girls; I was told that my 2nd little girl may be under 5 lbs and narrowly escaped being induced early but when she was born she was 6 lbs 3 and very very healthy!! I was also talking to some ladies at the preschool today who had the same concern - one had a baby of 6 lbs 7 and the other over 8 lbs so I don't think scans are always that accurate. It is good they are keeping an eye on things though.

Thanks everyone. I know I am a worrier especially when it comes to bubba. I was told I wouldn't be able to have children and here I am pregnant, I am petrified of anything happening. I am just worried as I got blood taken on Monday and now the scan being brought forward. I can't help but think something came up on the blood tests. I shall try to just relax though. It is just hard not to worry, as you all may know!
