I’ve heard they are worse than normal IVF injections!

Honestly they are fine, you can get a few bruises which can make future ones sore but they are doable x

Are they in your tummy, same as the normal ones? I ran out of space as it was last time! Glad they aren't too bad, thank you!

Yes they are either side of you belly button, it's just when you start to bruise and have to inject in the same area it gets sore, but very manageable - much better then the Hugh needle I have in my bum every 4 days lol!

Yep, have had these too. In my tummy after an op and in my thighs after having my son. They're fine, really :)

Maybe the horror stories I've heard are from pregnant ladies who never did IVF then!
Why do you have a huge needle in your bum?!

I think they do get sore closer to the 12 week pregnancy mark due to the brushing but manageable.

I have to have a proluton injection in my bum every 4 day for the first 12 weeks to boost my progestrone on top of the pessaries. It really can be sore but well worth me having :)

Hi blue flower I had to inject clexane every day throughout my pregnancy and for 6 weeks post birth. It wasn't sore and only stung when I used the alcohol wipes so my advice is don't use them. I started off in my tummy then moved the top of thigh x

Thanks! Can I ask why you had to take it? Did you get pregnant naturally?

I got pregnant naturally after 2 years 9 months of trying and a week before my first IUI appointment. Still to this day cannot believe it happened.

At my first midwife appt she asked my family medical history and I told them that back in the 80s my dad had a very serious DVT and almost died. from this they ordered an additional blood test and it showed I have a blood condition called factor V Leiden, which makes me more susceptible to blood clots esp during pregnancy. I'd gone 33 years of my life not knowing this! I was in shock at the time and upset that I had to inject myself but it was not actually a big deal at all. The needle is subcutaneous so not a big scary needle thank goodness. I'm a bit of a woos!

Sorry for the big long story! I wish you all the luck in the world ttc xxx

I took it for sticky blood and recurrent mc probs in pregnancy #5 and it worked for me. I was on fragmin rather than clexane. It was fine once I'd worked out things not to do! Like don't get rid of the air in the syringe, and don't rub after injections and do put ice on before and after. X
