Halloween costume on a budget?

I've been invited to a party on Saturday night. I need to get a costume together on a limited budget. I quite fancy doing something simple and funny.

My friend who's party it is told me that one year a guy turned up with long straight hair, little round glasses, and a white T-shirt with a red hole in it......he was a dead John Lennon.

Obviously I can't do that now but has anybody got any other simple but funny/effective ideas?

If you stuff 2 pairs of black tights, attach the waist bit to your side and string the toes together with clear cotton then wear all black, you can go as a spider. Your arms and legs make up the 2nd pairs of legs

Yes we dressed my friend up as a bat when I was at uni and cut the black bags to make wings - also stuck ears straight to her head with double sided tape

Black tights and bin bags! This could be fun

When I was a kid, my mum just cut a hole in a bin bag, slapped it over my head and tied a belt round it. Topped off with a plastic witches hat

Im dead jealous of the kids costumes that are in the shops these days

yeah that was pretty much my outfit every Halloween as well

OH and I will do the same as last year

Me, Witch - Long black shredded skirt, tights, corset and boots
OH, Zombie - ripped jeans and ripped t-shirt with red lipstick round the tears to look like blood

We both used black eyeliner on our lips, and red round our eyes, then talc in our hair to make it greyish (mine all back combed)

I have now added a witches broom from Tesco for 55p!!
