 I can hardly believe it but I'm 20 weeks today!! Hurray! There are times when I still have to remind myself I am pregnant and then I feel excited all over again. :) I just love it when the baby moves about too. I feel so happy to be a mum again. :D

Today I had my 20 week "midwife" appointment. As per usual the MW wasn't available today (cancelled her surgery for some reason) so I got to see another GP. This time it was a different one and he was really nice, friendly and chatty.

My BP was good (140/70) which was a relief, no problems with urine, tummy measurement was 20cm - exactly what it should be and, best of all, Dr. found baby's heartbeat instantly (it was 152bpm).

After all the checks Dr. and I had a little chat, he asked how I was feeling, I said "great" .... apart from the odd twinge down below around the pubic bone area. He said that was ligament pain where the pelvis was stretching and nothing to worry about. :) I'm really glad I mentioned it (I wasn't going to) as he was totally reassuring.

I forgot to ask for my MAT B1 form so have to go back for that tomorrow.

When I came out I tried to book my next appointment with the MW only to find she "isn't doing a surgery that day" AGAIN. So I've made an appointment for a week earlier just so I can meet her at least once during this pregnancy! LOL.

i must have a good MW, ive seen her 3 times now.

Hi Sabrina,

Happy half way :cheer:

Glad you had a better experience at the docs this time, though bit disappointing about your midwife.. again!

My baby's heart beat was 152 at my last appt too.

Know what you mean about feeling so great you forget you are pregnant, I do sometimes too - remembering again is a great feeling! :)

Thats excelent! shame about the mw tho, mine is lovely. not heard the heartbeat tho :(

Look out, only a week behind you

thats great Sabrina, glad all went well, you are due 2 days before me :) (my ticker is slightly out as the dates were bit wrong)

my MW didnt tell me anything so dont know as heart rates etc :(

Aw glad all went well and your baba is doing ok. I get those pains too and they're really horrible sometimes. SHame about your mw I do hope you do get to see her at least once before the birth.

Thanks for your messages ladies. I think the MW is doing a disappearing act. I popped into the surgery today to pick up the MAT B1 form and overheard the receptionists complaining that the MW had cancelled another surgery. :shakehead: It's really not good enough. I shall be very disappointed if she doesn't turn up for the appointment I've booked for 3 weeks time.

LO was really active last night, wriggling and kicking me like mad during the evening and in bed. Poor OH tried to feel the kicks for AGES. LO didn't want to co-operate and went all quiet whilst OH had his hand there. :( I really wanted OH to feel him.

Hey Sabrina remember me from way back when we were posting on the July 2007 due date post when we just found out?! Congratulations on the half way mark. I'll be there on Thurs.
I am sad for you about the midwife. It would be nice to build up a rapport with her throughout your pregnancy. Perhaps you should complain, as I bet all the other pregnant ladies in your area are feeling exactly the same way.
Anyway keep well and healthy! And cheers to you and your bub! Its a countdown from this point onwards.........

Great news all is well, I can't believe they get away with 'cancelling'. Drs are great but midwives are 'experts'. Do you think its maybe cos they don't have the demand at your surgery? Who knows xxx

Good news though xxx bambino will boot OH when he least expects it xxx

Hi

Glad all is well with you and LO hun. Shame about your midwife though she should be more reliable.
Katrina
