Little bit of background:

All my OH's family has quite a strained relationship with one of the SIL- when she first got with my OH's brother, she tried to cut him off from the whole family, she even thought that his own sister had a thing for him , and tried to stop him seeing any of his siblings. He's allowed to see his family now, but only because she likes to palm her badly behaved kids off on all the other SIL (there's six of us). She's a very materialistic woman, and is obsessed with decorating her home, buying new cars, etc. She told me once that she was glad she had a son and a daughter, as it meant she would get a bigger council house- apparently they are entitled even though they are rolling in it.

In the last month, she's discovered facebook, and honestly, she's so vulgar- all her statuses have been things like "Money money money- I'm living in a rich man's world" and "I have such a great life- loadsa money, a piss-easy job, a great car and a gorgeous free house". How bad taste is that?! Also, not even going to mention your kids or husband, no? Nice. All her pictures are things like "My new light fitting- cost me £130" or "My new fireplace- over £1000!"
We are going through some really money troubles atm, as is one of the other SIL, and this woman knows this- if I had loads of dosh and knew two of my family members were going through hard times, I'd never be so crass as to brag about it all over facebook.

Anywho, found out today that, after spending a bucket load of money doing up her house and banging on about it to everyone... her husband has been forced to quit his job after he was caught smoking weed on-site. Oh dear!
I'm not a horrible person I swear, but really, she fricking deserves it. Just goes to show, having all the money in the world can't protect you from your own stupidity.

How does she have all of this money and is still entitled to a council house for free???? Is she a benefit cheat or working cash in hand or something? I hope now that her oh has lost his job she doesn't end up being entitled to claim even more!

Me neither, it's amazing what some people can get away with, while others work their socks off and have hardly anything (me and OH). I think they get it for free because of something to do with the amount of hours they're both contracted vs what they actually work... although now, god knows what they'll get. It's ridiculous.

Eurgh! OH and I are in a council flat. But neither of us I work, I'm signed off and he's my carer at the moment. We get next to nothing and people who have enough money to brag about it still manage to claim! Makes my blood boil...

I guess people like that can only live the "high life" for so long until they get their just deserves. Don't ya just love karma!

Aw, thankyou Heppi, that's so kind.

I know, it's so frustrating- when we moved in, they gave us a sofa and armchair, saying we could pay them whenever we've got it. Then as soon as she knew about the money problems, she told us we have to give her all the money asap- even though she was bragging about how rich she is. OH's dad had to pay them off because they kept going round the family slating us for not having it- I'm sorry, but £100 is about 3 weeks food shopping to us! You know what though, they'll land on their feet again, you watch- some people have all the luck, no matter how little they deserve it.

Why do people have to brag about things totally uncalled for. Karma does have its way of sorting out people.
