Had sweep today...what can I expect?

Hey ladies

I had a sweep at the hospital today. I wasn't expecting to so a little unsure on what to expect. She said she wasn't too hopefully it would work, but could start of some cramps and light spotting.

I've had bleeding (red) not overly heavy, since she done it, plus some small clots. Otherwise nothing but some tummy niggles...just a more painful one though that made me go a bit hot and flustered!

Any Mums/Mums to be who had a sweep care to share their experiences?!

nothing happened at all when I had my sweep at 41 weeks

i had a sweep after my waters had broke at 39+6 weeks, so im not sure if it made a difference that my waters had already broke but i started getting contractions about 4 hours later

It didn't do any magic overnight. Just gone from red to pink leakage now

Ah well, roll on Tuesday for the next one!

I lost my plug after my sweep, huge globule of 'knicker snot'...couldn't miss it! But then i still didn't have him till a week later by induction - c-sec! Typical!

I had my sweep at 40+2 and it didn't do anything for me. I didn't even get any blood spots from it like the midwife said I might do.

I had my sweep and 2days later James arrived! It deffo kick started things for me. Hope it does for you too xx
