Had my Scan today-mixed bag for £100!

Hi everybody. So I had my scan early scan today that I decided to book after a few weeks of over-worrying. Saw the heartbeat and baby was exactly as it should be so very relieved on that front.

However, when she measured bump she said it was measuring 6w6d based on her averages of 8.9mm and 9.1mm when she checked it but then said it might not be completely accurate at the moment. Now I didn't think much about this at the time, I was looking at the monitor instead. The thing is 6w6d doesn't seem possible to me. I got a +opk on the sat at cd14 and I tested again on the tues cd17 and got nothing. We also bd on the previous thurs cd12 and the sunday cd 15 so it seems a little odd that things would have met 5 days later on the following thursday cd19?! It would also mean I'd only have had 8 days before af was due for it to then go down on its journey to implant and then implant the day before af was due? and I'm always 28days nearly to the hour so I know my cycles don't fit with this idea of 6w6d

Anyway I doubled checked with them later and they said it would have been more accurate days if it had been an internal scan but as the heartbeat could be seen that wasn't necessary. I know everything is ok so far at least but I am a little miffed that for £100 they could have done the internal too to make my dates as accurate as possible? Or am I just being ultra picky?

I wouldn't worry hun, they measured me at an impossible date with when we knew I ovulated too. I think they can tell more at the 12 week scan. The great news is you have a heartbeat and everything looks healthy, congrats x

Hey hun, I wouldn't worry too much about your dates at the minute. I was put forward a whole week at my early scan and then put back at my official NHS one by 3 days. Baby might just be growing nice and quick at the minute Fantastic you saw heartbeat, such lovely pics! x

I know I'am being ultra picky, I think it was mostly the shock lol but the whole experience was amazing

Don't worry, once you have your dating scan, at 12 weeks ish, they will be able to give you your exact due date, and if there dates did not coincide with your LMP dates then they can change it, my hosp said I was 5 days behind my dates, which I thought amazingly not possible that sperm could last 5 full days after the last time we bed, but as not a week out, they didn't change my dates anyway.

Glad all is well and you saw the hb! I think they say dating is most accurate around 12 weeks anyway x

Regardless of where they put you hun, your 12 week scan is the only scan that will change your dates.

Chances are if you are measuring less now you'll be put back a little at the dating scan and voce versa if you are measuing a little more?
