Its taken me ages to get around to writing this post, but thought I should let you know!
Went to the Midwife Appt on Monday and when I told her my history (baby did not grow properly last time 2 yrs ago had a loss) she booked me in the next day for early scan and to get checked out at EPU.
So went along next day with OH and had first scan where they could not find anything. Sent me off to drink more water
and then back in again. Once again they could not see anything so they asked me if I wanted to come back in a week or have an internal scan. Naturally after the last time I opted for the internal!
So they 'prepped' me for the scan - my first taste of people poking around down there(!) and they found the baby! Its heart was beating and my husband was glued to the screen! They measured the baby and it was bang on where is should be 7wk and 1 day. I was so happy because that means that my bambino is not only pulsing away but has grown properly which was our biggest fear after the last time.
So I came out, bawled my eyes out (think it brought back memories) and went to see the Dr. - she was great. Her exact words were 'I am very happy with that'. So although we are not in the clear for another four weeks and I know all of us share the same worry, especially those of us who have lost but its a great feeling to know that the foundations are in place!
So anyone who is awaiting an early scan, good luck and don't expect too much, my pic looks like a white blob but gorgeous all the same!
We told our parents which was nice. Its hard keeping it a secret and it seems everyone who knows wants to tell other people because it is exciting news - but I want to keep it secret until Christmas Eve - which is the 12 week mark and a nice Christmas surprise for all our friends! However, I have now been on 'antibiotics' for so long I think people I have the plague!!
Next Scan is 22nd December, so we can relax over Christmas IF all goes well.
