when millie was 2 months and started getting grumpy in evenings i wrongly thought she was teething, when in fact she wanted a bedtime routine as i later discovered.

for the last few weeks shes started waking frequently in the nite again (after going 12 hours with only one wake-up) so i thought she needed weaning. but despite giving her baby rice in evenings the situation isnt getting any better :wall: so im WRONG again!

grr why am i so dumb that i dont kno what im supposed 2 do :(

I would have automatically assumed she was needing weaned, you are not stupid in the slightest chicken, you should never doubt yourself!!

Is she waking as she is too hot or cold? Is she wanting fed? Will a dummy do?

There could be many reasons why she is waking it is all trial and error, we all get it wrong at times chicken

Thomas is sending you a big squeezy cuddle and is promising to have a word with Millie if he gets the chance

You're not dumb, all LO's are different so what someone else's LO needs might not be right for Millie, just try what you think might work, and you'll figure it out together I'm sure

thanx ladies.
thanku thomas for my squeezey cuddle, it made me feel lots better! xxx

Trixipaws you are not alone. It's starting to drive me insane as I can't work out why Poppy won't sleep through. I thought it was teething, then weaning (which she started last week and still no difference), I've changed her formula as I thought it was wind, I've also started to give her gripe water to try and settle her but she was still up 3 times last night!! She is all happy and awake this morning whilst I'm walking around with the darkest circles under my eyes!! I'm moving home soon so I'm gonna put her straight into her own room to see if that will make a difference but the hv said she will probably still be disturbed as it will be a new house....arghhhhh!! My new hv will be calling me once I move in to discuss so hopefully she may have some more ideas. We just have to be positive, it can't last forever

Millie might be having a growth spurt. Jake had a couple of weeks when he was about 4 months old where he was waking more than usual. I thought he needed weaning so I tried him with some baby rice and it didn't make any difference. I stopped giving him the rice and not long after he started sleeping again anyway so I assume it was just a growth spurt. Unfortunately we arn't mind readers and therfore we don't get it right all of the time. That doesn't make you stupid

Youre defo not alone! Iain was doin the same he started sleeping thru when he was 3 wks old then he had a really sore bum so bad that i had to get him up n change him every hr or 2 thru the night n this went on for wks so when that had finally cleared up i thought well he wont b uncomforable anymore so he should go back to sleep right thru but how wrong was i???

He was still getting up 3-4 times in the night sometimes wanting fed other times wanting to play grrrr not good at silly o'clock, or generally wanting to see that we were about. as i would lift him n straight back to sleep he went although whenever i put him down in his cot he would be wide awake again. grrrr.

Anyway to cut a long story short i have started to put down the top that ive had on for that day in his cot for him to lie on so he can still smell me, n so far so good it seems to hav worked. Just wish i had thought of it earlier.

Anyway giv it a try ye never kno it might work for u too.

Kazz xx
