Why do people always think they know what's best for your baby..??

I mentioned to my gay friend that I'm not sure whether I'll breastfeed or not yet and he said:

"You MUST breastfeed!!! Its scientifically proven that it will improve your child's health, immune system and intelligence!!! There are no disadvantages to it apart from sore nipples and the slight inconvenience of it. Bottle feeding only 'works better' for lazy mums who are more concerned with have an easy life than their baby's health. So there."




I'm so insulted and angry - I'd like to see him try breastfeeding!!!

I can see why your angry! i would be fuming!

I have bottle fed both my children, they are the picture of health and gorgeous.
Lets see him grow breasts and try it - for something natural its so hard to do.

Hey everyone - I'm glad you understand my frustrations - it's not just an issue of whether breastfeeding is right / best for you, it's also an issue of who the f**k are you to tell me how to care for my baby?!

I showed him all of your comments and he did a bit more reading online and has now apologised and admitted that he was ill-informed!
