About 8 years ago I was happily riding along on my Z1 when a van pulled out in front of me. I swerved to avoid him (I wasnt going very fast as was approaching a junction) and came off, landing on my back and damaging my back and left shoulder. I was lucky...it could have been a LOT worse.

Anyway since then I have had on and off problems...I cant do anything that involves half-bending....ie hoovering or spending too long at the sink..without my back seizing up, cant walk for more than about an hour without it going, and standing up still for any length of time is agony. I can cope with that though, I know what I can and cant do to prevent it getting bad.

But my shoulder is a different matter. Every now and then, I'll have a stretch or reach up for something and it will "pop", and then be agonising for days. Its a nerve that gets trapped in my shoulder joint, and it sends like electric shocks down my arm to my hand and up the side of my neck. Its just gone again and I have to do a nightshift tonight

I have co-dydromol to take but that always makes me really dopey...oh this is going to be fun

Anyone else have a similar problem? Did you find any alternative treatments for it?

I had physio for about year after the accident but tbh it never really helped much.

I fell out of a tree when I was younger and dislocated my shoulder... since then I've always had problems with the nerves and muscles... despite popping pain killers all the time... My crhons makes it worse too by inflaming the soft tissues in that area...

The only treatment I found that worked.. (better than the pain killers in fact) was having regular osteopathy on the area... If I stop going within a few months the pain is back.

Sadly it costs money and as I don't really have any spare cash atm I have decided not to go...
