Growth scan

I couldn't agree more Jill! My mum always says 'in my day we didn't even have a scan. We knew we were pregnant at about 3 months and got on with it!'
There's too much expectation and charts now! Every baby is different and every mummy is too

Exactly!! All the way through I have had Midwifes saying I'm having a big baby but scan said otherwise. I just have a big bump! They should just leave us to it and just ensure baby is healthy. Guess we would complain if we had no info though so it's a lose lose!

The scans aren't great for accuracy for weight. I was scanned prior to my C-section with my daughter at 36 weeks and was told she was going to be 4lb 9oz - she was 3lb 11oz - and there was only a day between scan and giving birth. With my son I was measuring 4+ weeks ahead, but scans suggested a reasonably big baby but with lots of fluid too. He was 7lb 10oz when he was born at 37 weeks. I can't remember what the scans predicted, but I think that his weight was pretty much expected. So definitely hit and miss!

Are they fairly accurate with measuring fluid?

I was told the night before my growth scan after reduced movement that my fluid was borderline and she was concerned but not enough to keep me in, the next day when I said they said my levels were fine. It's rather annoying x
