OH eventually took his swimmers :sperm: into the doctors a couple of weeks ago and today we've been back to get the results. We were both really nervous and worried what the result would be.........

BUT they only went and sent his swimmers to the wrong place so they haven't been tested and now we have to start again.

The woman today told us we shouldn't have taken then back to the doctors we should have taken them to the hospital instead. Even though I asked the receptionist of what we needed to do and she told us to take them back to them.

I'm so angry!! Its taken as a couple of months to get them there in the first place with OH's hours of work. Now we have to start again. :wall:

Grrrrrrrrrr!!

Oh no how annoying, well you have to get them straight to the lab within the hour and keep them warm to to get an accurate result.

All you need is a new pot and a form and you can take them yourself.

Good luck for the results anyway! :sperm: (couldn't resist using this!)

xx

Nightmare :wall2:

I'm not sure what hours your hubby works but there must be some way for him to give a sample right at the hospital?

It will give much more accurate results if they don't need to be transported.

My friends hubby dropped his off at the hospital carrying them in his pocket as he was on his motorbike  When they got there they were all dead due to the cold lol

Oh no, how annoying Kedi, good luck with the next sample though, hope you get a good result. xxx

OH works 6 days a week and normally only has a day off at the weekend, when they aren't open.

He has changed Wednesday shift next week to a night shift, so he now gets Thursday off. He says he will try and do it then. No doubt he will get lost and not be able to find the right place in the time span.

His sense of direction is awful and although his spoken English is good his reading is not so good so he gets himself into a right panic when he has to go to new places.

I was talking to my Mum last night, ranting about the rubbish doctors, (I tell my Mum everything!) and Mum and Dad are coming to visit in a couple of weeks during the week. She offered to take the sample for us

Although thats really sweet of her, I just can't see OH agreeing to doing the deed in the bedroom then handing the pot over to Mum.

Thanks for the replies ladies xxxx

LOL! I'm not sure my hubby would do that either!

Where is your hubby from?

Get him a map off google :)

Morning LouiseB, you ok?

Mum must really want grandkids if she is that helpful :rofl:

He is from Turkey, he has been here nearly three years now, but he gets himself in a right panic when he has to go to new places. I don't even know why, he is more than capable.

We talked about it last night a bit more and we've agreed to drive there one night and find the place when they're closed, then hopefully he will find it when they are open. I think he knows where the hospital is, but it's once he is inside.....he may never come out again lol.....left walking the halls with his warm sperm lol

Hiya, yeah i'm good thanks Kedi :good:

My mum is like that too, maybe even worse because she's a nurse so is familiar with proceedure and bodily fluids but fortunately we haven't actually had to ask her to be invovled at all lol

It's a good idea to drive there and see :) When i've been to the hospital, they do tend to have very old men posted at junctions in the corrdors and they will point you in the right direction :)

It is a bit of a maze though :oooo:

Finally managed to get OH's swimmers to the hospital yesterday, so fx second time lucky. Hopefully we will get the results this time.

What I don't understand is we had to get them there within 1.5 hours but it takes 2 weeks to get the results back. How come it takes 2 weeks?? :clock:

Good luck Kedi :)

It doesn't take 2 weeks, that is just what they tell you.

The test and the results will be available immediately, but then give them a couple of days to tell your GP and put it in your records.

I always gave them a week and then phoned them and they always had them.

Give them a ring on Monday ;)

Thanks for the tip there Louise, I'll be ringing them on Monday then!!
