ladies..

i am really starting to get myself worried. i went for my scan on june 12th and they told me baby was a girl (woohoo)heart, kidneys, spine and all other organs looked great but they told me that she was measuring on the small side, and said that i may have to have a repeat scan to check that all is going ok.. well i received that letter in the post this morning.. i have to have a repeat scan done on FRIDAY 13TH JULY... is this summit i should be worried about coz i am getting myself in a real pickle about it..
i had a midwife appointment a few days ago.. all is ok.. babys heartbeat was 140bpm nice and loud, clear and strong,,midwife spoke to me about my scan but said she didnt have any concerns and she said that i probably wouldnt be called back in for a scan , but now i have been .....baby has been moving every evening, ..and has started to wake me up a few times with a quick kick/punch..
im only a smallish person myself.. im 5'2 and my fiance is 5 ft...do u think thats y my baby is small

im really worried that summit is wrong with my liccle girl... and i really need some advice

dont worry about it hun your both only small so your not going to have a big baby also baby could have a growth spurt, scans cant alwaytell everything so i wouldnt worry

Hi there,

This happened to a family. She is only just 5ft and was called back to hospital to see the consultant re the size of her baby. When she and her husband, who was just 5ft 2ins, walked into the room, the consultant said "Oh, well, now I see you both there's no problem. You may go!"

Maybe they should take the father's height when they take all the mother's details at the booking apt!

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. Try to relax and enjoy it. If you're petite you don't want a huge baby do you? I'm sure it's perfect in every way!

:)

my friend has just had a baby, both her and her husband are very short and the baby came out tiny! he's so cute and small. and she had no pains whatsoever while pushing

i think it does depend on parents my scan at 14 weeks said head measured at 15 weeks and leg measured 16 weeks. as OH is over 6ft im guessing they are going to be long just the same as him

 Hi sweetheart, I am also quite small, 5'3" and my partner is a short arse too...5'2" I have been concerned because all the nurses my work have said my bump was smaller than it should be.... But baby is doing well..and if history has anything to go by....
***My mum is small (4'11") had small bump and then just at 8 months... bang! went huge and i was a big 9lb's when born..
***His mum is small (5'0) and went huge at end of pregnancy too, he was just over 10lbs when born.....

So i think maybe we both need to stop worrying as nature will sort us out... Already i feel myself getting a tad bigger.....

Post your scan pics when you can..we love to see them!! :cheer:

good luck doll, lv Yvonne xx

I know this is nerve wrecking for you but my sister in law just had a tiny baby and he is so gorgeous.
Try to keep calm and remind yourself that heart beat and all the internal organs they saw we're fine.
You're probably just having a small baby.
I think the medical profession forget that it's our bodies and lives they're meddling in and yet they are so detached. They really should have reassured you. I had a similar experience with a doctor recently.

Dont worry sweety...... This friday the 13th is a good one, as its my baby boy Ellis' first birthday

Only good things will happen this friday!

I have another scan on the 12th (was offered the 13th but could make it cos of Ellis' bday) as my baby is also small.... she has SUA (single umbilical artery) so I will have my fingers crossed for you too.

What's worse, both parents being small and having a small baby or both parents being 5'10, having our family members taller than us?

My bubby is gonna be a giant huh

Don't worry lass, is this your first pregnancy? If so, I was told that doctors arn't able to give an exact size of the baby as it is your first, plus there is a two week margin that can be taken into account for conception.

As said before, if there was a real big problem, you'd be in a hospital bed with swams of doctors around you, rather than being on the net.

Good luck though xxx
