got to go for growth scan

Hi,

Im a bit concerned, at the midwife for the last fe visits the baby has been measuring 3 weeks ahead.anyway Im under a consultant due to my blood pressure last time and the birth being quite bad.When she measured me the baby is small!!!! 28cms.Ive got to go for a scan in two weeks as she thinks it may just be laying at a funny angle(Oblique she put in my notes).She says not to worry but now I am.I dont know if I an wait 2 weeks to know how everything is!!
and if the baby is small why has it not been picked up?

Hiya

The told me my first was going to be small, told me if he didn't grow x amount they would induce me to have him early and he'd go into SCBU. Talk about worry! I was petrified!

At the next scan he was fine then when he was born he was 8lb 6!
Try not to worry until you have the scan, there can be loads of reasons why the one measurement is small.

My LO was Oblique last week (laying across with bum by my left hip and head under my right boob) so that may interfere with their measurments.

I was told all the way through my DS was going to be massive, scared the chuffin life out of me!! Turned out small at 5lb 11oz which is classed as groth restricted.

this time my scan measures that my LO is 2 weeks bigger than should be, consultant was baffled as its genetically improbable to have this with LO with the same father (although MIL had a 5 lb and 12lb baby so I beg to differ) He wasnt bothered really and just said we will keep an eye on it.

Sooo what Im trying to say is dont worry too much
