Hi ladies,

Ive still got sickness quite regularly still and still certain smells make me sick even not so strong tastes like bacon and sausage the smell of them! yuk! and i am now panicking out of my mind. Got my OH's best mates 21st sunday and both us couples going for a curry and on Tuesday its my OH's 21st and his mom has now booked a table for a curry also......

Need advice ladies - I may feel better by then but even if i went and nibbled on a naan bread the smell of everyones vindaloos' will set me off for sure and i dont wanna sound like a drama queen so have not mentioned anything but cant miss either of these events but I dont wanna feel uncomfortable and ill both nights! :0

That's a tough one. :( Early on in my pregnancy, I couldn't stand the smell or even the SIGHT of Almond milk (still can't actually...), and I would get queasy immediately. MY DH found it all very amusing...

I would maybe try mentioning it to your OH just so he is aware of the possibility of it making you sick. If you wait until the actual dinners, he may just think you're over-reacting. He could also be very understanding, but some men are weird with how they think pregnancy symptoms go. ;)

In any case, I really do hope this little side effect passes for you before the dinners. If not, I do wish you the best of luck! xx

Thanks Tipper!

I had a good talk with OH last night - he said i wished i had mentioned it sooner and said how he cant have his bday without me being there or uncomfortable so is changing a pub meal :)

but his best mates 21st unsure about whats happening there i said to him this morning i cant face that one at a curry house either as thats even sooner so i said i dunno if you wanna strike me off the list and you just go?!?

see i dont wanna be a pain but he cant miss his best mates 21st might say later could we go for a lunch with him in the day instead of us attending meal on night?!?

Never seen or tried almond milk.. will look out for that!
xx

Been there!!!

Curry houses are great for setting people off.

You can only apologise and explain you're going to be less fun to be with if you go places that make you feel sick - I've had to do this, this year, with my OH - started putting my foot down about being dragged to various gigs that I'm not even necessarily interested in - because I can't cope with the stress of the rushing and the heartburn gets bad late on (mine makes me throw up) and now I can't be upright for too long because it hurts my abdomen and ribs too much...
