We were given vouchers for John Lewis and although there are loads of things I want from there like toys, the only things I really need that they have are a cotbed and mattress, etc. So... I was able to order the cotbed I wanted! :D http://www.johnlewis.com/230397708/Product.aspx I saw it in person and it was very sturdy and very simple looking, which was my main priority when I was originally looking for a cot. I also managed to get a sprung mattress and protector. We got lots of sheets and blankets from relatives (as well as second-hand from my sister-in-law's friend) and my mother-in-law bought us this quilt set (I know I can't use the quilt yet), which should be arriving on the same day as the cotbed! http://www.littlewoods.com/rf/navigatio ... Order=desc

That price just went up so we were lucky that got it when we did!

So... we managed to get some really nice things for the baby, and we have offers of second-hand clothes when we need them (as I expected we are pretty much set up for from birth clothes, but not for after that). We also have a second-hand sling, but I'm hoping to sell my PC to get the pram because of the back problems I have. I would LOVE to be a baby carrier, but I will have my limits at first before I go to the osteopath.

Awww lovely. So pleased you got the one you wanted :cheer:

And sounds like you are doing well for stuff too. Honestly in the early months they don't want for much anyways. Lots of love, cuddles and smiles does the trick :)

Glad you have the cot thats a big thing off your list!
As Shelock wisely said, there is not much else they need when they are little
(although my mum would tell you there is no need for a cot all a baby needs is a drawer to sleep in   )

Thanks! Haha... We were joking about putting the baby in a drawer! Our plan was that if worse came to worse we would co-sleep exclusively in the beginning, but that was a worry in case it wasn't working out well. I'm relieved to get a bed and thrilled to have some pretty bedding for it. I know it isn't necessary, but it's always nice to feel like you have set something nice and cosy up for the baby.
