Having gone beyond 42 weeks with my first and being induced and delivering at 41+3 with my second, naturally I'm anxious that I am going to go way overdue again. I really dont want to be induced again :shakehead:

Does anyone out there with several children tend to find that if their first was overdue then all subsequent bubbas tended to cook for longer too?

Basically what I want is for someone to tell me my baby is going to fly out nicely on time lol:roll::roll::roll:

aww, well got ma fingers crossed 4 u! go big walks if u can. i was a few days early with my little girl but i know a few ladies who habe went late with 1st then early with 2nd or vice versa so all depends on baby. best of luck 2 u! xx

My first was induced 10 days over and my second came 2 days late according to my dates and 2 early according to the scan

I think the thing is that everyone has their own body clock in pregnancy. So if your body has gone to 42 weeks previously then it may well again. We get very fixated on due dates and they are only an estimate. In France you're not 'overdue' till you pass 42 wks - they class that as term.

Personally I'd add 2 weeks on to a due date and if they come before that then that's just a bonus :)

I know that in the part of the country where I'm currently living, they will not induce you until you are full term plus 12 days, now. My friend was induced at full term plus 10 with her first, and now she's about to have her second, she doesn't want to be induced again. Her midwife reassured her that given the status of her labour last time, if she had been left to go home on day 10 instead of being induced, then she could quite happily have had her baby "naturally".

I think it's worth asking what they consider "term" to be
