Hi! My LG is 12 weeks today & is EBF. She used to take a bottle of expressed in the evening so I could cook dinner but now won't, & a bottle causing major upset- I'm not really sure why! The bottles haven't changed. noone can get her to take a bottle, I've even left her with my parents/OH so I'm not there & she can't smell me, doesn't work. OH has taken her out on his own cant get her to take a bottle. She'll just go without and scream her lungs out until she gets boob. While I don't want to stop BF'ing I'm still working as I couldn't take maternity and now I'm so far behind with work because I can only do it when she goes to bed (doesn't sleep during the day at all) but also have to do all my housework in the evenings as well. I'm at a real loss of what to do? I'm wandering whether I should go cold turkey with the boob and just give her bottles? I feel at a total loss!

I haven't got any experience of my little girl rejecting a bottle after initialling taking it but maybe you should try a different bottle? I don't know what you are using but I highly recommend the Medela bottles with calma teat. I started using them with my little girl when she started refusing my boob - turned out I had thrush which took me months to get over and so she became an exlcusively express breast fed baby and only drinks from this now. But basically baby has to create a vacuum like they do on the boob so it's a more normal way for them to drink. Might be worth trying x

I'm breastfeeding my LO and only tried him with one bottle at around 5 weeks which he took no problem. I tried him with the same bottle at 6weeks and he struggled for less than an ounce then squealed like it was hurting him and then refused it altogether. My sister suggested trying a faster flowing teat. I haven't tried this yet but it might be worth a go.
