Just a warning for everyone that is about to wean a under 6 month old.....

I went shopping yesterday and was looking at ALL the jars and dried food like porriage etc and nearly all of them contain Gluten and it was in the SMALLEST writing!!!!!

I was soooo shocked as no baby under 6 months should eat gluten, I only found two jars with out it and only one baby rice, all the porrages etc had it in!!!

xxxxx

Porridge would have it in because oats contain gluten although coeliacs can often tolerate a small amount of oats. Wheat has the most in, but so does rye and barley.

i dont understand it, rusks say from 4 months yet they have gluten in???

i have been giving them to Harley since he was 4months

if babies under 6 month shouldnt have it then why would they put it in jars?

well thats what i think dionne!!! its so bad!!

I think babies cant have gluten as it may cause allergies in later life.

you can now get gluten free rusks

the way i did see it was the companies that make the babies foods are the experts, have been studying it for yrs. so i rather put my trust in them what i feed my babies as i am all new to it.
but it does pee me off when there are things in there like gluten when babies shouldnt have it :wall:

yes i have seen the gluten free rusks cost nearly 3x more though  but i suppose it is worth it x x

your ok anyway now cos harley is over 6 months. and a cute little chunk too hehe

xxx
