Im 18 weeks this week and still no movement and worried as this is my 2nd pregnancy and although i never felt a kick till 22 weeks last time, i had felt flutters etc by now

Even though ive heard the heartbeat, I keep thinking im going to have my scan and they tell me it hasnt grown properly. The only thing that give me hope is that i have really bad back ache which i never had at all last time so could this mean babies nearer the back? Or is that wishful thinking?

it's likely that your placenta is sitting in an anterior position (at the front rather than back) and is cushioning your babies movements.

i didn't feel proper movement until about 22 weeks, and my m/w wasn't concerned (my placenta is anterior)

Awww hun try not to worry, like Sarah said it is probably just down to the position of the placenta.

Not sure if you have one, but we have a doppler which is a godsend when we worry about Elliebump and her movements. If you don't have one already, maybe you could get one?

Hi,

I'm sure everything is absolutely fine and you'll be feeling something pretty soon. I wasn't feeling much at 18 weeks and I'm on baby no.3 but now I'm 21 it's constant!!! Also, as others have said, it's probably got a lot to do with the position too.
