I am nearly 38 weeks and am getting very impatient. I finished work last friday. I have kept my self busy all week but feeling bored. So ready for little one to arrive now. People keep saying you should make the most out of your time off before the baby arrives and I know they are right. Just really want to meet our little one now. I know the chances of it arriving anytime soon are slim. I know most 1st babies are late. Can't wait another 4 weeks! X

I feel the exact same and I could still have another 6 weeks left if I go over! Gah, it seems like I have waited long enough already :)

x

Well my first was a week early so you never know!

I have a near 9lb already apparently so i feel that pain I want my baby out, also had reduced movements etc so wish I would go into labour now!!

I am measuring big button so thats another reason I want it to come early. Will they let you go full term/over with a big baby? X

No, well i will be offered a sweep at 39 weeks to start with!

If all is well and there's no physical reason for the baby being big (diabetes etc) then yes you can go over with a big baby!

You're sick of hearing it I know, but do make the most of this time, especially if this is your first baby! This is your last opportunity for a while yet for a good rest and doing things for yourself.

I do feel your pain though. I was huuuuuugggge with both my pregnancies and especially this last one I really actually was physically knackered by 37 weeks, hence ended up in hospital for a week with my blood pressure before having him early

i agree with littlemonkey and also our lil girl was 9lb and arrived on due date (rare for ftms) . i was off work since 17wks due to travelling n staying away from home most weeks and kept myself busy with swimming (great in late pregnancy) finishing up last minute house jobs (well to be fair that was hubby not me) batch cooking/stocking freezer (best thing ever did still eating them now) and generally sleeping/resting etc...now 3wks in as ftm and omg i literally have no time, used to laugh when others said you'll barely have time for 10min shower n they r right n my hubby helping atm as he's still off work...my time will reduce even more when he's back at work but hoping to have established a sleep routine by then lol...

oh n on a side note stocked up on babygrows, nappies n bottles n best thing ever did...everyone kept saying youve bought too much but we've cycled through babygrows already twice ....

oh n get loads of sheets for bedding...now were getting our lil girl used to the crib both day n night she pukes on it every few hrs lol....

Kitten, I still remember so vividly the shell shock after having my first baby and thinking I had absolutely no idea what I'd let myself in for! It also didn't help I ended up with an emergency section, so I physically couldn't do anything for a while afterwards either!

Yeah first baby is definitely a shock to the system lol

yeah tell me about it lol...she is very happy n content though when asleep or feeding n doin so well with bath and tummy time, sleeps in car seat fine when driving or being pushed n no obvious signs of colic when winded properly but it is taking a while for her to sleep longer than 2hrs at a time lol...

but her feed qts have increased dramatically from 300ml per day in first couple of wks to sometimes 800ml per day now, lets c wat her weight is Friday lol...
