Getting back into shape post birth

Hello mummies!!

I'm just wondering how long it took you until you felt ready to start going to the gym or running after having your LO?
I'm very much into keeping fit but since being pregnant I just can't face much more than swimming.
I know it varies with each person and how labour was etc just wanting an idea :)

I'm 14 weeks post section and mentally ready, need to be careful around my stomach tho
 
I went to the gym 8 weeks post section, it was a bad idea, 20 min on the cross trainer and I felt awful! So stopped that and have been swimming a few times a week. I'm now 11 weeks post section and think i'll give the gym another go soon.

Look for a mummy and baby fitness class. I go, it great as baby can come too and they focus on our bad bits and are properly trained to help get post natal women back into shape. Once you've had your all clear from the doc you should be fine, I had abdominal separation so had to wait a bit longer until that was healed up.
 
On amazon I got a post belly band which holds your stomach in after baby and this helped massively. I wore it for 2 weeks. Amazing.
