Hi girls, well this is a bit embarrassin but has anyone suffered from thrush at all?
i've had it for a little over a week now and nothing is getting rid of it the doc has tried different pesseries and taken swabs to check what the cause is, but its driving me mad, does anyone know any good naturel ways to clear it up?

coupled with my water infection i feel like i'm ready for the knackers yard lol

thanks in advance

Lyn

Hi lyn.

Apparently live yoghurt is meant to be good for getting rid of thrush, either inserting a bit or eating it, or tea tree oil, pop some on the end of a tampon and insert.

for your water infection, drink loads of cranberry juice
xx

you poor thing.... not a nice combination.. would have suggested saem as above to be honest - cranberry juice and live yogurt - cotton underwear and good ventilation (skirts no tights, loose fitting clothes etc..!) may help a bit to make you feel a bit more confortable

hope you feel better soon

I totally agree with topbird, cotton underwear is a MUST when you have thrush! I noticed a big difference when I wore 100% cotton underwear as apposed to synthetic knickers. :D

thanks girls, i think i'll give those a try, i think my knickers are cotton but not sure to be honest

is there an alternative to cranberry juice, i cant stand the stuff :(

The only other alternative that i know of to get rid of a water infection is to just drink loads and loads of water to flush it out of your system. Also avoid using soap down below and avoid really hot baths as it spreads the infection. xx

Years ago I used to suffer terribly from Thrush and got it just about every 6 weeks. It was awful.

I used the Canestan, the pessaries helped but only when they were the low dose longer course type (I think it was 5 pessaries, one to be inserted every night). The cream actually made my thrush worse.

I found cutting out perfumed products helpful too. Only use Simple, unperfumed, natural soaps and no bubble baths/oils etc.

I second all that's been said already about tight underclothes, sticking to cotton etc. The natural, live, yoghurt is helpful too if you can't get to a doctor or chemist.

I hope it clears up soon. How rotten to be suffering with both problems. :(
