Ladies i was wondering weither i could ask your advice on something , When we moved into our house the garden was a blank canvas and there is a strip that we have tried to grass seed but it hasnt aken very well because there's not enough sunlight due to a big ok tree behind the back of us hence why its just a lovely muddy mess still. So ive tried to think what would be best to put down instead i need something that will be fairly child friendly as the kids love to play outside in the garden so has anyone fot any suggestions at all? Ive tried racking my barins but as of yet come up with nothing

can you not buy some grass that you get in a roll from b & q?
manda xx

Yes its possible but because the back garden is very shaded by a big oak tree im not too sure weither the grass would take well or not :?

What about the child friendly wood chip type stuff that they have on parks etc?

I would have said rolls of turf too. I dont know what else. Just DONT get woodchip (or small gravel) unless you want a huge cat toilet in your garden. Im speaking from experience :puke:

I have thought about that one jo but its a big old patch about 13ft long * 6ft wide would it end up going mushy and horrid like bark normaly does :? Thanks though

I guess turfing is the only thing to go for just hoping it will take ok

I think with the rolls of grass, as long as its well waterd and you dont walk on it for like 4 weeks thats pretty much it. When we lived in a new house it was rolls of grass and they laid them in november so hardly got any light and they took really well. :) hope it works

my MIL is doing ours for us. she said october is the best time of year to do it... dont know why tho

Pop to your local garden centre and ask them to suggest something. That would probably be the best thing :?
