Gallstones

So while pregnant I got diagnose coliosytitus and just had an ultrasound today and have loads of gallstones.

So looks like I'm going to be having an op to remove my gall bladder but no idea what this means anyone got any experience of this?

I was diagnosed with cholestasis while pregnant & had to have a scan & was told I had gallstones but as far as I know they arent going to do anything about it, sorry I cant be of any help xx

I had my gallbladder removed about 8 years ago - got it done by keyhole surgery so have only got 4 teeny little scars from it and was out of hospital the next day and recovered pretty quickly, certainly quicker than when I had my appendix out, which wasn't done keyhole, and took a lot longer to heal.
