 hey all

very rarely on here, but when i do its because i genuinely dont have any other answer lol most recent problem being,

Jackson and his toes... Since hes been a baby, Ive always clipped his hand and toe nails after a bath he sits quite the thing and gives me each finger and happily has them cut, toes however he screams the building down, fights and just goes ape basically... Ive never cut his toe, hes never had them like stood on or any big trauma. I notice his big toes on his feet kind of grow pointed to the one side? but theyr not overly thick or discoloured or ingrowing. The other day he had black fluff in his toes from his socks and I couldnt even get that out without being kicked and screamed at...

Just unusual - have any of your little ones had a funny thing with toes? Ive tried even just touching and he sits intently watching what im doing ready to kick and go mental. He doesnt seem to be in pain either.. just so confused?!

Suggestions welcome! :)

Is he ticklish maybe?

I used to hate having my toe nails cut when I was younger and I'll be honest I have absolutely no idea why!! My nephews were both really funny about it too. I think it's just a weird kids thing they grow out of.

sometimes having ticklish feet can make any kind of attention to the feet unbearable! maybe that's his problem? Feet can be very sensitive, i know I always fine my daughter goes crazy when I hold her feet to clip her toes like in an overwhelmed by the sensation kind of way - my hubby also has very ticklish feet and hates for them to be touched tickled by anyone else.

Doesn't help the situation tho as you need to be able to give attention to his feet once in a while......

maybe some sort of distraction while doing it - a special toy that he only gets and plays with while having his toes done maybe? let him choose something and keep it only for that occasion and he only gets it if he lets you do it nicely? may not work if his reactions aren't in his control tho!

Can't you do it whilst he's asleep? I always had to do y sons like that until he was older.

Its not a ticklish thing, its like total dispair when I go near them.

He did used to let me do it, and one day now no.. Ill need to distract him or do it whilst hes asleep.. Just thought maybe with the nails growing certain ways it was maybe hurting him? but Ive never clipped to close and I dont even need to be clipping.

Thanks girls.

My eldest hates having his toe nails clipped. Now he's a bit older I can explain why I need to do it and he'll let me but it's still a battle. I think he has really sensitive feet and his nails seem to grow into his skin (although they're never allowed to get to that stage) so he always say it hurts when I clip them. When he was younger I went with distraction - his favourite TV show/DVDs usually worked x

I've always been exactly the same as your son... For me it's always been that when someone messes with my toes they always bend them slightly the wrong way to get them at the angle they want. This is VERY uncomfortable and can flip to very painful with the tiniest movement. I'm fine walking etc. Maybe he's just got sensitive toes like mine xx
