Fuming!

I am so fecking angry right now! I have not told a lot of people what were calling our baby as I wanted it to be a surprise. A few weeks ago my hubby's cousin who's pregnant messaged me and asked me what we have chosen, I told her our name we have picked is Lacie. Just woke up this morning and seen she's announced on Facebook she's calling her baby Lacie, even spelt it the same way! Her baby's not due for 33 days! Why would somebody do that? I'm so angry I have steem coming out of my ears! Xxxx

Oh my god! You poor thing! That's terrible!!!! I haven't told a single sole our names that we have picked just invade somthing like that happening. I would be fuming too!!! it's worse as she is family!! Xx

Oh hun that's a horrid thing to do.....but your's will be here first . She might change her mind anyway if she gets any grief from it and as 2nd cousins they aren't that likely to really notice having the same name. There's 4 of us with my name in our family lol, some parents just have no imagination

I can't believe it! Silly bitch I feel like commenting on her status asking why she's copied me! We never see her anyway think the last time I seen her was about 5 year ago, none of my family know her and she lives about 30 mins drive away, not the point at all though, stupid bitch she is. Omg, I'd be the same as you. We had our name picked whilst ttc and have told a select few people. I got a 'friend' who is due 3 weeks before me who is also havin a girl and I won't tell her as I jus have a feelin she would copy something and as her baby is due first it would actually look like I'd copied her.
Have u asked her why she has chose this name? Xx

Ooh I would be fuming too!

My ex did the same thing to me a few years ago. I didn't know that he'd met/was having a baby with someone else but was still in regular phone conversation with him. He rang me and during the conversation asked me what I'd call a baby if I were to have one and I (thinking it was just banter) told him I'd name a girl after my grandma. A month later I found out he was with someone else, they were 6 months pregnant and that they were using that name. Absolutely furious I was!

I'd definitely be asking her why she's picked that name when you'd already told her/trusted her with it.

I would be livid....I would totally comment on her status asking why she is having the same name as you. It may be childish but who cares, she has copied you.

I suppose in the sense that you hardly ever see her and the fact that your LO will be here first, it won't really matter if she steals your name - it's just the bare-faced cheek of it!

One of my sil's asked me what names I had (when I was having josh) she was 7 months behind me being pregnant, I told her Joshua for a boy, Lauren for a girl, she played hell with me saying I can't call it Lauren as that's the name she picked she was really angry with me, I was about 2 weeks off giving birth and had my names all planned out for months, she was about 8 weeks gone and not long found out grrr anyway obviously I had a boy and she ended up calling her daughter Jessica?? Wtf? Why would she cause all that upset? Families... I think you oh's cousin needs to be given a wide berth, are you going to tackle her over it? Xx

Dont know hun i dont know what to do for the best. she's not one bit important to me. Why would anyone want to announce their baby's name on Facebook before they are even here? It's just fucking sad tbh, especially when they have STOLEN it from someone, xxx

Unfortunately she's had a few scans so it's defo a girl but yes would have pissed my self laughing. I was going to ring hubby and express my anger but he's at work and already panics everytime I ring thinking I'm in labour pmsl xxxx

Haha, my oh is not allowed his phone on at work but he told his boss the other day there's no way he's turning it off, the worst thing is he never knows where's he's working, they just go to the yard and get put on jobs could be 10 mins away could be 2 hours away xxxx

Same as my OH doing removals. His office is so useless I'm surprised he hasn't been sent abroad lol. He's told them though that if he's not local he'll just come home especially now I can't drive myself to the hospital if I need to and if they don't need him to drive the lorries he takes the car to the job so he can be home quicker. He does make me laugh Mr Organised lol

however I kind of had the same thing happen with one of my friends who had hers 3 weeks ago, she named hers River and we have had Riven picked since before time and had mentioned it on facebook before etc etc.

It was a bit too close to Riven's name for me but the way I think of it is when in the hell other than mayb once a year will they be around each other??, If you never see her and haven;t seen her in 5 years how likely will it be? Does it really matter, there are a lot of names and there is not one specific person who has that name, it's not the name it's the person that counts and how that person is brought up and looked after.

Ultimately call your baby what you like, it is your baby not theirs, I do understand your anger though and it was bang out of order to use exactly the same spelling
