When BF'ing is there foods that are really best avoided to help digestion with your baby.

I've not had mine yet but want to be prepared on what's best not to eat.

I'd avoid strong spices/garlic in the beginning and cabbage and then start eating small quantities to see if it makes a difference

Orange juice seemed to really upset Henry's tummy, think a lot of people find this with citrus fruits x

I've found a lot of coke (fizzy drink variety lol) upset my lo, still learning really though as its so hard to tell what it is when you eat as much as me ;-)

I was always told no orange juice or fizzy drinks. I think that's all I avoided. X

I avoid caffeine (I don't drink tea or coffee anyway) and spicey food :)

I think its very individual. I found that if I ate egg at all in the first 4 months of feeding LO her behaviour would change and she would whine and act uncomfortable (same with chocolate) afterwards yet other mums had no problems at all. Never had an issue with any other foods causing problems while I was exclusively breastfeeding.

Incidentally, LO loves egg now... and chocolate...

Oh no ! I love my Caffeine - & being without I'm sure it wont go to plan, I've even been drinking alot of Cola paste 2 weeks again :-(

Stock up on some decaf then.

I haven't really avoided anything tbh apart from obviously alcohol. I don't drink tea or coffee though, if I did I'd cut down due to the caffeine. I do find if I have something a bit spicy her nappies can be a bit more unpleasant lol but it doesn't seem to bother her. It's trial and error though, some babies are more sensitive than others xxx
