Hi ladies!

Well i am now past the dreaded 12 weeks....YAY! I am still not going to believe everything is ok till i see bub for myself!

Anyway, my sicky feeleings and nausea seem to be getting worse. I thought it was supposed to ease off around 12 weeks? I am struggling to eat anything or cook anything for hubby as EVERYTHING makes me feel sick, even toast! really struggling to get anything down me but know i have to for bubs health!!! What is everyone else eating while feeling sick?

To be honest I've got myself some pregnancy vitamins and I'm just eating stuff I can keep down. Mostly breadsticks, they're really good to munch on and something in my stomach helps the nausea as long as it stays there!

I've been told that ginger helps sickness, mother in law bought me a pack of crystalised ginger and it looks rank so I havent even opened it!

I also found that anything with any kind of flavour sets me off, so bland bland bland for me! I was trying to drink OJ for the fruit portion but that was irritating my stomach, but now I dilute is 50:50 with water and it stays (fingers crossed).

If you're not eating fruit or veg you can get those vitamin shot drinks which are really small but have one of your 5 a day in. Maybe worth a try?

Quakers Granola! I have also been eating apples and tangerines when the nausea eases off. Otherwise I would just suggest eating whatever you feel like - lemonade sometimes helps with my sickie feeling. I have been waking up in the night with really bad nausea and cant make myself get up to do anything about it so just end up going back to sleep!

im getting really bad morning sickness, its worse this time than with any of my other pregnancys, ive been being or feeling sick right from getting up in the morninig til i go to bed, its awful and nothing seems to help, ive tried all the usual things like the sickness bands, ginger etc but nothing has worked, the last few days though the sickness has eased a little, im just feeling sick all day rather thatn being sick.....i hope you feel a bit better soon xxxxx

I'm not so bad this time, but with my daughter I was so very sick. I vomitted on average 9 times a day for about 7 weeks. She is now a very healthy & very articulate 23 months - so the fact that I was getting 2 portions of fruit & veg a day and very little protein except cheese clearly did her no harm at all. So just eat whatever you fancy even if it seems odd or unbalanced - you just need to keep going. Little & often rather than let yourself get hungry. For me those thick frijji milkshakes worked wonders. Peas stayed down when all other veggies failed. Stodge like chips, fish finger sandwiches & lots of cheese also seemed quite magical to me. I tried to balance my fears about harming my baby by not eating properly and my inability to keep healthy stuff down by eating organic oven chips & organic peas which had been frozen within 2 hours of picking so they had lots of goodness!?! But in the end the baby will take what it needs & as long as in the past your diet has been reasonable you have not need to worry about a few days or even weeks of eating a less than perfect diet.

Well done on reaching 12 weeks. I will be 11 weeks on Friday - starting to feel nervy about the scan already. Hope the sickness lifts soon, x

I'm sorry Erin I have no suggestions! I still get a little nauseated if I haven't eaten for a few hours but no sickness at all. I'm still taking the vitamins though, some foods are just not doing it for me at all but it tends to be tasty/strong foods I'm drawn to. What about smoothies that you can maybe sip at throughout the day when you're feeling a bit more like it, then you could put in the fruit or veggies you fancied. I'm going for anything sweet just now, my baking skills are coming on a treat :)

milk, milkshakes, fruit smoothies. It's not the most substantial meal in the world by any means lol, but it was about all i could manage to keep down until a couple of weeks ago. Hope your appetite comes back soon x

I've found cucumber straight out the fridge seems to make me feel better, I guess it's good for rehydrating too. That and jellybabies for the sugar but I'm trying hard to resist them lol

Everyone keeps telling me to eat dry toast but that's just not working, the way it just balls up in my mouth is making me gag!

fruit juice, fruit, cheese, especially PORT SALUT mmmm, ginger biscuits
I normally love eating and im really struggling to find anything i fancy too.
at least we are not alone in this x

bland stuff (although I have just managed to finish of a small box of thorntons selection  was heaving at the time but they were good) Last time I felt sick if hungry and rich tea biscuits and ginger tea helped, this time I'm struggling (but grazing all day ) especially as my appetite hasn't gone

yeah I normally love my food too, but not fancying anything. My OH suggested getting that M&S dine in for £10 deal tonight but not really bothered about nice food at all, Im happy with my breadsticks! Its started to make me think, people who are naturally thin and people who have weight problems must be something hormonal in it that affects how you see food, I hope this stays, I'll never have to diet again!

Thanks everyone. what vitimans are you taking? x

im taking sanatogen.

oooh i have fancied doing that M&S deal, thats such a good deal. but i wanted it before the pregnancy when i lovd all food and could have the wine haha

yeah I wouldve wanted it for the wine too...it was sparkling wine for new years eve too. Oh I miss sparkling wine. I'm gonna demand a glass as soon as I've given birth! ;)
