im just so nervous i really wanna go but worried bout the flying
i dont even know y really but its the thought of being in the sky and if nething happens there is only one way out

aww hun!

ive only ever flown to dublin and back. i was 'ok' there as i could see out the window and had adam to talk to. the way back was nasty, cause adam fell asleep, and the bloke in front was saying horrible things about planes.

Just try and remind yourself its a few hours for a fab holiday

Flying is ok. The take off is the best bit, especially if you can see out of the window (and its daytime and not cloudy). the rest is just like being on the bus, quite boring really until the landing. heres hoping for a decent movie. im really jealous that you are going abroad, i dont get to go this year :(

I was so scared when we went to malta as I hadnt flown before either. But t be honest when your up there it feels just like your in a train or a car. It didnt feel to me like I was up in the sky lol.

It is scary, no doubt about that. But honestly it will fine and you will be so glad you did it

 aww hun, it's really fine, I fly all the time and there is nothing to it.
When you arrive and enjoy your holiday you'll see that it is sooo worth it.

hun a plane is safer than a car, go to your docs tell them your flying they will give you something to help B sleep darl!

I had never flown until I was 21. then I had to do it alone otherwise I would not have seen my dear OH for several months and I couldn't wait that long.
I too was TERRIFIED. I went to docs and he gave me diazepam. The flight was brilliant...I was as high as a kite and I think the business man next to me thought I was just a little odd. I kept saying 'Wow, we're really flying' all the way through the flight :D

After that I became a flight whore, I had to fly a lot to see my OH when he worked away.

I still get a little jittery and have to do breathing exercises during take off...but once we are up in the air it is just like being on a train. I have been on some pretty long haul flights and I don't need diazepam anymore...but it certainly helped me make that first step.

You could see your doc...if you are not keen on polluting your body with meds then he could arrange cognative behaviour therapy or counselling.

Good luck and enjoy your hols!!

You'll be fine Sarah, don't worry. I've been an air-hostess for 9 years & i'm still here :D

i know im prob being really silly lol
its just something i have always been so nervous of and now it is actually gonna happen just making me emotional
i always sed id never go further than france (or drive somewhere) lol even for my honey moon

my mate flew me to scotland to get me on a plane ! i was in hesterics ! still nervous now but did my first long haul last year , all the way to kenya ! i just have to hold someones hand realy hard on take off and landing , there the bits i dont like !

I dont think they are bad at all, the plane goes really fast and because you are on the ground you can tell just how fast that is. The worst bit for me is when it hits turbulance but i just try not to think bad thoughts when its happening or ill panic. I think flying is quite fun, especially when you are coming up/down and the cars and houses are so tiny :D

Take off really isn't that bad at all...I convinced myself that if we were going to crash it would be in the first few minutes of take off, because I had read it somewhere.....HOWEVER I have to remain rational because as Violet said, you have far more chance of dying whilst in a car.

It really is very safe or else thousands of people wouldn't do it for their jobs every day of the year.

I don't think you are being silly at all...it does help to keep remembering the good facts about flying...it is safe and without it we would miss out on some wonderful experiences.
