Me and OH are thinking about going on holiday when baby will be about 8 months old, his parents have a villa in florida which we thought would be ideal for us as we have are own space, washing machine, tumble dryer , pool etc,

The flight is about 8-9 hours i think to florida

Has anyone travelled this length of time with an 8-9 month old and how did they cope with it?

I think you'd be fine :) It really boils down to your baby I'd say.

I flew back from Australia (28 hours stuck on a plane more or less) and in the row across from me was a family with a 4 month old baby. They got the front row with the drop down baby bed and had a toddler also who had his own seat. Both baby and toddler did just fine. Baby cried on and off but was soon soothed. I'd guess that would be the down side, if your LO was grizzling for some reason or crying a lot. If its an overnight flight people trying to sleep might not be impressed if your LO was screaming, but it can't be helped.

I'd look to planning your flight times carefully to work with LO's routine if possible, at least going out there.
