Hey hun, found this article for you, hope it helps!

Traveling by air is generally considered safe for women while they are pregnant. Many physicians recommend that a woman not fly during the final trimester for many reasons, but often as a precaution in case of an early labor. The second trimester is generally considered the safest time for flying, having made it through the critical early months and not being in danger of an early labor.

You should consult the airline rules before planning to fly while you are pregnant. Most airlines allow pregnant women to travel up through their eighth month. Traveling during the ninth month is usually allowed if there is permission from the doctor. An airline generally depends on the honesty of the passenger as to how far along she is.

You should be aware that most airlines have narrow aisles and smaller bathrooms, which makes it more challenging to walk and more uncomfortable when using the restroom. Because of potential turbulence which could shake the plane, make sure you are holding on to the seat backs while you are navigating the aisle. You may want to choose an aisle seat which will allow you to get up easier to reach the restroom or just to stretch your legs and back.

Keep your air travels on major airlines with pressurized cabins and avoid smaller private planes. If you must ride in smaller planes, avoid altitudes above 7,000 feet.

I've flown twice during this pregnancy and i'll be flying again when i imigrate.

Remember to drink plenty of water and to keep moving even on a short haul flight!

same as what melanie says get up and about and drink loads, but as your pg and if you drink loads you'll need to get up lots to pee !! i went to the dom rep at 7 weeks and was ok i also wore flight socks and did the dvt excercises they normally have info on the plane about them

My sis is 9 weeks PG and had a hol booked when she discovered she was PG..she went to the Canaries last week after worrying about flying, her doctor reassured her it was ok...she had a fab hol and looks really healthy and relaxed. Could do with a week in he sun too just sleeping, so damn tired at the mo!! Taken to power napping for an hour after work at 5pm to get me through the evening!!! :D

Hi
Standard for most airlines is they don't like you to fly after 28 weeks unless you have a note from your doc saying you've had a trouble-free pregnancy and with your due date. Like Jaidybaby says, before then, I think it's generally considered a slightly higher risk in the first and last trimester, but if you follow the advice for DVT, drink water, ask for a seat near the loo perhaps(?!) you will be ok. I have to do two very long haul flights back and forth to UK in Sep for my wedding, i'll also be fitting in a honeymoon to Italy, and i'll be around 26 weeks, so i'll need to be mindful of all of that stuff too. Sounds like you need a holiday badly, so enjoy it and don't worry.

I'm glad that someone posted about this! I'm taking a short vacation next month and was wondering what the concensus was. I'm also going to ask my midwife tomorrow during my appointment.

Enjoy your holiday!!

I've just got back from 2 weeks in Ibiza, and the flight was fine. I had flight socks, and requested an aisle seat. I stood for most of the journey and only sat down to eat. I also have been suffering with my back, so took a couple of heated back patches. Oh, and a litre bottle of water! I put the bottle in the freezer overnight, so it was perfect cold temperature when I landed in the heat.

Have fun!!!

Seems pretty safe to me. I'm off on the 1st June and I'll be 16 weeks. Not gonna worry too much will just follow what people say above and it will be fine. :)

I went when i was 18weeks with my first if you tell them they will give you good seets and a special seetbelt.
At the hotel they changed our room to next to the reception incase i had any problems, they were realy good, my midwife said it was fine just drink loads and use plenty of sun cream. But that was 6 years ago now!!!!

I just got back from the Dominican Republic 9 hr flight. My doctor and midwife said that nothing would harm the baby.

Flight went well except that I had really bad morning sickness the whole way there and kept fighting people off to get to the loo!!!!!!!

I don't think I would fly again in pregnancy but thats only because I felt sick..... I was 10 weeks and 13 weeks when I flew.
