I had with my last pregnancy late on but I will probably be booking it myself hopefully before it hits december. Just ring up your practice and mention your pregnant and need one they should book you in
My MW didn't mention it at my booking appt and I forgot to ask, however I had mine last week - phoned the Dr told them I was preggo and booked it direct x
I've not had mine yet and the MW didn't offer it to me. But I did ring the doctors and they were happy to book me in. Only problem was I couldn't do the days they were offering, so I said I'd phone back in a couple of weeks.
At our doctor's practice this is first year they haven't phoned round all their regular "flu jab" patients to book in. Just had poster up advertising that it was in and to arrange your own appointment. I get it every year cos of lung condition.
I had a gp appt and mentioned it and he just whipped out a needle and did it straight away! No pain, no side effects - I wasn't even aware that there could be complications in tri 1. So I say go for it if your midwife is happy x
I had mine yesterday I booked it myself an appointment with the practice nurse at my doctors as my midwife never mentioned it at my 18 week appointment. There has been so much on tv and in the papers about it recently thought it would be better to have it than risk getting flu and putting the baby at risk.
I just mentioned it when I had my first Drs appointment and he gave it to me there and then, I think you have to be proactive and remind them...
I think these Drs need to be given a check list to make them more efficient
I had mine today! I work at the hospital and we are all offered it but because I'm pregnant I had to have it done at my gp. I rang them up and said I was pregnant and would like a flu jab and they booked me in straight away.
I've just had mine Was given loads of leafets etc. at booking appointment, one of them being to organise a flu jab so just rang my gp on Monday and got it done this morning xx
I had a letter from my GP last week offering it to me. I was in two minds as i'm not sure if there are any risks, but since I read that a fever can potentially harm the baby i've decided to have it done. My surgery offers a walk-in clinic, I just hope I can get there when it's not too busy!
