For this past week ive had horrid heartburn and nothing will shift it!!!
I remember with DD ginger biscuits helped a bit but this time nothing! I had to have rennie in the end with Jaycee, but i dont really wanna have to take anything.. just want a natural remedy if possible! Any ideas??

i drank gaviscon out of the bottle hun, but milk is supposed to be good

I've been sucking loads of rennies. They really help. Don't know of anything else. I don't like mik. Rennies aren't that bad are they?

I've had horrible heartburn for the last 5 weeks or so, the only thing I've found to help have been Rennies. I've used the chewable ones, they're really nice! Even so some nights I can only sleep if I prop myself up in bed so I'm practically sitting up! It's horrible isn't it?

i've found that milkshake (becoz i dont like milk on its own) has helped mine a bit. hope you find something that helps coz i know how horrible it is :(

I'm on some tablets from the drs. They mainly work, I never tried rennies though, just tried gaviscon and kept on forgetting to take it all the time.

ive got peptac off the doctor but milk helps loads hun xxxxx

What about TUMS I couldnt survive without them yuo get 75 tablets for £2.44 from asda and they taste like refresher sweets :D

I've had it too for a couple of weeks now. Its so strong and nasty. Like you say, nothing will help it and I've tried everything :(

Gaviscon works great and is completely safe (and on free prescription!)

I use gaviscon liquid in the day but the doc has just prescribed a tablet begining with "R" ranetidine somthing like that!! I swallow one with water at 9 of a night and it doesn't wake me up once. :D

I find milk or Mcd's strawberry milkshake helps :)

Hope you manage to clear it up soon

Just found this on my 31 week pampers email...

FRESH MELON can ease the fiery discomfort of heartburn, a common symptom of pregnancy. Besides being delicious, it's full of vitamin C.

Thanks girls ill try them all! Mmmmm mcdonalds strawberry milkshake sounds good!!
Ill give rennie a bash i just found some from when i was having jaycee, if they work ill get some more, if not ill try them all!!! :D

I was all up for nothing, but nothing that wasn't natural..... but when the heartburn is so bad it's almost making you sick.... there's nothing like swigging Gaviscon from the bottle (midwife's suggestion, and free on prescrption- which m/w got for me without having to see GP)

TM

I've had wicked heartburn since about 9 or 10 weeks! So I don't go anywhere without my Tums, you're not supposed to take more than 7 a day but that would be mre than enough! 1 Tablet and it generall goes....for the time being anyway!

Try to identify which foods make it worse too!

I've been getting heartburn since week 16 and I'm now on week 30. It's just getting worse :puke: I have one fruit and I get heartburn... The worse part is that my throat really burns on bad days..

The only thing that works for me is Gaviscon, I've tried several things but nothing else really worked. I found out that if I have a small sip before a meal it also helps a lot.

I suggest you try it, but try not to have too much as gaviscon contains sodium (salt). Good luck...

They say to aviod sodium ingredients etc in the book in reading..
Im using rennies fruit flavour and they are working a treat! I can have 1 or 2 to suck or chew whenever i need them.. i can have 16 a day which isnt bad..i only need them at night now! :cheer:
Just small meals has helped a great deal! If it gets worse and the rennies stop working ill give gaviscon a try! Thanks ladies!

My mum gave me Rennies (safe in pregnancy checked) and a glass of milk.
Did wonders. :D
